I believe weird was the 2nd reason, with secrecy being the first. While it maybe a hassle for the staff in these locations, any random person (barring main characters) would never figure out that you need to put a medal in a fountain to gain entrance to the secret lab. :S

well he's done a few films with Mila, im thinking he rubbed off on her. The RE films are clearly just a means of W.S giving his wife work, that is after the first one anyway, that was just an excuse to see Mila naked (not that there's much to see)

For instance, I like the expansions for RE5, very much the mansion. I liked how you could make it static camera, I did not like how this worked with the aiming/monster placement of it though.

He is able to stick to cover, carry only 2 weapons(one of which has to be a pistol), quick with the quips, even at inappropriate times, hmm, what else makes a modern hero of video games.
I thought dino crisis handled time travel, although I only remember playing the 2nd one.
