What I think we all really want is an iPhone app that essentially gives you an "omni" heads up display, kinda like what we see in "IronMan" - Look at any object in the environment and get data about it - basically we need an AR capable Wikipedia that will populate article snippets based on what's in your phone's FOV.
I usually base it on the case and sometimes, the function. Last two home PC's have had super-black cases, so they've been Dolomite and Shaft. My Mac Mini is "Pod 6".
Uh...correct me if I'm wrong but I would swear you see Voyager and the Delta Flyer tooling around "Dubai 2010" around 50 seconds in. Apparently "Rolling Thunder" is Dubai'ian for "Please sue us, Paramount".
I disagree completely and find spoilers suck the joy out of whatever medium you're trying read/watch/listen to. I've never understood the appeal of skipping ahead to the last page of a book to reveal the killer/secret twist/etc - if the story is well put together, the "big reveal" is the culmination of a long journey, not the whole point of the trip.
What? Scientists haven't heard of Jagermeister?
I've got a refurbed Marantz SR7500 in the middle, connected to 2x Cambridge Soundworks Tower II's for front L&R (via bi-wired Audioquest cables), 2 CS Satalite 3ways for rear L&R and a Cambridge "CenterStage" as my center. Can't remember the brand of my sub but that's hooked up and on the inside right of the front and all of that is sorta kinda calibrated correctly - used the mic the receiver came with for auto-calibration and then dialed in a few settings over the years for better sound.

Yes, I've spent WAY too much time and money on this.

I came in here to check if you'd even SEEN old episodes of Dr. Who, but I'm glad Wildness had things covered.
That was actually...uh. Well, pretty fantastic.
All depends on your defenition of deadliest - if it's deadliest to humans and it's a machine, I'd suggest you throw in:

A. The Car
and
B. The gun

Both are machines and both are far more lethal to humans than the collected host of mechanized misanthropes we've got here.

@Stealth_chill:

Or perhaps a PTSD sim that lets you throw beercans at your wife and lose your job at the plant.

If it ain't "BoltThrower" it just doesn't cut it for horrible Warhammer related music.

Google it. In the grim darkness of the far future there is only ROCK.

@PlaidNinja:

He pulled a Spock and copied himself into that retard prototype they found (similar to what Data did with "Lal" - downloaded himself to help the new kid get a fresh start). They gave a small nod to that by having DopeyData start singing the song he sang at the wedding right near the end. That movie was horrid. Hence, this is sorta Data 2.0, which is really BetaData, but lets not get caught up in semantics.

God I need to get a life.

Some tiny investigation reveals that:

Is part of the marketing somehow. Looks like a real classy customer.

Hey Giz, apparently we're neighbors. Based on the photo you took out your window, my office is about 2 blocks away at Bway and Fulton.
Wasn't there an awful Charlie Sheen movie that covered exactly this topic? Was Ron Silver seen anywhere near the launch pad?
Look, we all (and if you're reading this site, it applies to you) remember the episode of The Next Generation that explains this - 4 billion years ago, the first smart aliens got bored and decided to add some seasoning to the genetic soup so most of the evolving life in the universe looks like them (~4 billion years later). Apparently they didn't have Tivo or something and this seemed like fun to them.
@xAnarChisTx:

Powerpoint '07 actually lets you save your presentations as JPG's (which the thing can play natively) and since it looks like a stick drive when it's plugged into a PC via USB, your users can drag the image files to the thing. It won't replace a normal projector by any means and text heavy slides will be tough to read, but for graphics/images/etc? Works fine.

I work as an IT guy and we purchased one of these as an "emerging technology" item a few weeks ago. We like to identify stuff that'll hit 6/12/18 months away so we can get out in front of user demands (we have very demanding users.)

Short version? It's neat. The wow factor of busting the thing out far outweighs its technical limitations (which are notable, especially the lack of VGA/DVI in) and the GB of onboard memory really makes loading up images/audio a piece of cake. We've wow'ed some of the suits with it and while it's impractical for some corporate applications, it's got quite a lot of something that's missing from a lot of technology.

Zazzzzzz.

@dc-united:

Gotta back up DC-United on the Salamander props - a friend has several cabinets from them and while they're almost insanely expensive, they are basically indestructible, very adjustable/modular and surprisingly stylish. I keep my eyes on Ebay and, proof of the quality, the resale prices are usually extremely high, often within 10 or 15% of the retail price of the original unit.

Ugh...the first thing I thought of when the kid jumped out of the Vette was:

"NOW THIS IS POD RACING!"

I'm going to see it and I know I'm going to see it. I'm sure the combat will look great and the action will look awesome but it does look like a Dawson's Starship cast and I have no clue why the inside of the ship looks like a bathroom from an overpriced martini bar.
