Has everybody forgot how Winslet callously destroyed her previous husband, Jamie Threapleton? There's nothing noble about the woman. And now she's just scored another victim.
Original movie's James Horner score?
It was Alan Silvestri, you doofuses. And there'd better be quotes from it. It's iconic. Brian Tyler did a fantastic job of quoting it in his score for "Alien vs Predator: Requiem". Actually, the only good thing about that horrible abortion of a movie.
You should be aware that BOTH of those Children Of Men shots were the result of a storyboard woman called Tracey Wilson. She's been responsible for many of the most memorable shots of the past 15 years, from the Chrysler Building falling in "Armageddon", to the dinosaurs in "Night At The Museum".
Strangely enough, she also storyboarded "Serenity", and was responsible for ripping the engine off that beloved ship.
And she draws in pencils, and refuses to be digital. Gotta love that...
Is somebody on IO9 sleeping with Salerno? The amount of times this no-talent hack gets mentioned here is ridiculous. Mentioning James Cameron and Shane Salerno in the same breath is beyond preposterous. Have you looked at the franchises and movies this moron has destroyed?
Is this a slow news week?
Better matches:
David Cronenberg. Javier Grillo-Marxuach
Ridley Scott. Joss Whedon.
Christopher Nolan. Peter Briggs.
Duncan Jones....Duncan Jones.
Move along. Nothing to see here...
Looks like somebody's going to do faithful Lovecraft properly really soon...and in an unexpected way.

Mark Romanek?!?
That's a hideous choice. He's the reason Universal's "Wolfman" closed down the first time, and Joe Johnston replaced him. The guy spent money like it was water, and made the studio very nervous.
And Alex Garland ain't exactly the best sci-fi screenwriter on the block.
"Mortis Rex".
Google it. Look at the awesomeness of the concept art on Bloody Disgusting. Wish you'd snagged one of the Comic Con 2009 signed teasers.
From the other writer of "Hellboy" (the first, good one) that isn't doing "The Hobbit".
That's all that needs to be said.
Thank God!
This inane fool helped run William Morris into the ground in London, ran the coattails of reality pap, and had not one clue at NBC.
Let's hope it's a long time before we hear about him again.
WindowlickinDaywalker:
Oh, I don't know. There were some good "Aliens" titles that Dark Horse did, but "Outbreak" really wasn't one of them.
I *like* "Alien3"...or, let me rephrase that: I *like* the recut version of "Alien3" that appeared on that last DVD box set. If Fincher had been left alone, Hill and Giler kept away from the script (although) the recut does strongly resemble the more intelligent Rex Pickett draft of the movie, then it might have been ever better. You can see that Hill and Giler were aiming at doing "Brubaker In Outer Space". And, getting it hopelessly wrong. As it stands, the recut "Alien 3" gets more airtime than "Aliens" does ("Alien" is still the Gold Standard for the series.) I can't even watch "Resurrection", it's so piss-poor. (Thank you, Joss Whedon, for screwing that one up.)
When is Sigourney Weaver going to stop talking smack about the fact the "Alien" series doesn't want to give her the giant paycheck she used to crave?
How is it possible that one of the reasons she did "Alien 3" was to stop "Alien vs Predator" getting made, when the first "A vs P" script (the good one, by Peter Briggs, that went into development turnaround for 14 years, and still should be made...thanks Anderson and Strauss brothers, for doing your crappy versions that destroyed the franchise) wasn't even sold to Fox until way after "Alien 3" was *released*?
Bitter, bitter, sad and bitter. Quit whining, Sigourney, and be happy Cameron wanted to hire you for "Avatar"...
