@Nikkoli: The reason Windows surpassed the Mac was because enterprise embraced Microsoft (1st with DOS, then with Windows and finally with Office) while it rejected Mac and every other OS that existed at that time. Id on't see how Android will surpass iPhone that same way. Andorid has zero market share in enterprise while iPhone gains on the leader RIM. And, android doesn't have the virtual monopoly that MS achieved with Windows and Office that it continues to leverage even today.
@lolbrbnvm: I think Matty should've emailed it to El Jobso. I'm sure Steve would've slapped himself in the head and thought "So that's what I was doing wrong."
@cxwong: You're basically saying you don't believe me and are to lazy to check facts. If you believe what I say then you're argument doesn't wash at all.
I'm surprised Gizmodo would pick out this one obscure line from the entire interview and promote it.
If it were up to me I would've picked the following line, "well a guy, who can say if [Jason Chen of Gawker Media] is a journalist." and used the following title for the article:
Steve Jobs Explains why Gizmodo is the tabloid rag of the tech news world.
@cxwong: The "Mac has a smaller market share that Microsoft", argument never made sense to me. Mac Classic OS 10 years ago was riddled with viruses and the US market share for Mac was less than 2%. Now that Mac Market Share approaches 10% in the US, a quintuple increase from a decade ago, there are still no known viruses affecting Mac OS X and the number of other types of malware (trojans, worms) is still insignificant (I think I've seen alerts for two or three the last couple of years) compared to the XP platform.
@Mediahohoho: First off, I'm not hilarious, I'm Evil. I didn't spend seven years in Evil medical school for nothing.
Second, just to be clear, the US was not allied with Israel at the time of the Liberty incident. As I said before, officially the matter of Liberty incident has been closed by both governments. Whatever you or I believe happened is irrelevant and you should really keep past events within the context of the time and event when they took place rather than relating it to present day or future events.
Finally, the question of whether the activists were unarmed or not is obviously not clear. Regardless of whether they were armed or not I'd say they their chances against armed commandos are pretty slim. I suppose that's why a bunch of them were killed.
My point was that most governments or large cultural/ethnic groups will usually do whatever is in their national/cultural interest.
@Mediahohoho: Reports concluded that the attack on the Liberty were a mistake. Israel paid the US reparations. The matter was officially closed by the two governments in the 1980's. What happened or whatever you think happened is over and done with. Time to move on to other shades of gray.
