Thats ridiculous, objects don't disappear when they get blurred, they just get blurred. Light from the car has still been reflected into the camera so there will be an image there, just stretched out. And if these were long exposures the stoplights would overlap instead of switching from green to yellow to red individually.
No, these must be several shots taken and edited to show only blank shots in the road, then combined and slapped on a real time lapsed sky.
Oh my sweet goodness, I am so very happy right now. The entire time I was waiting for Kiss From a Rose and there it is, shining at number 1. I just cannot contain my excitement. Life.... is worth living again
@crosis101: Not to split hairs, but it always amazes me, and somewhat confuses me, the demand for scientific accuracy some people call for in science (more appropriately, speculative) fiction. Particularly when the same people easily accept a single punch causing a knockout, or a crime scene being riddled with DNA, or love at first sight, or the entire female population being large breasted bombshells, or whatever other conventions are prevalent across the tv and movies of every other genre.
@crosis101: Thus is the intrigue.... Why are they out there? Why did they leave Earth? We've gotten snippets of answers, but not much in the series itself.
In terms of habitable planets, they say the Verse is a system with multiple Suns (hence the different colored Suns on various planets). The Suns orbit each other, the planets orbit the Suns, and life goes on with more planets than a normal system and plenty of room for that habitable zone.
I believe a map of the Verse was available on i09 a bit ago... not sure it may have been elsewhere. But it surely is on the internet.
@Darklighter: I concur wholeheartedly. One of the best complete superhero stories I have ever read, and with Superman at its center. Definitely should be on the list.
The fact that every story on this list has very little to do with if Superman beats someone up enough to win or not (with the one obvious exception) is very telling of his character. He's never been an action guy. Or at least, when he's at his best, he's not an action guy. His story is about many things, mainly others' reactions to him. This list has a lot of that.
That is fantastic news. Loved Pitch Black, fairly disappointed by Chronicles of Riddick. Mainly, I think, because it was just so very different from Pitch Black
I'm a bit confused how this is different from simply shooting a long exposure over the course of a night. I mean I know why the explanation is different but I feel like the picture would look the same.... Perhaps someone could explain it to me?
Meh. I don't think I'm gonna get this. I'm holding out for something better, like Tiger Flu, or Wolf Flu. Then they'll have time to work out the kinks.
@anticonnor: I concur completely. I always think it seems so cool and i try to remember to follow up, but then forget after a few days. Perhaps a list every month or so?
I always wanted a pair of those shiny contacts. I heard they were released when Pitch Black came out, but now I can't find any anywhere. Anyone know where they might be?
