<![CDATA[FrankenPC commented on Scientists Build Nanowire Memory That Uses Trits, Not Bits]]> Wow...I read the article and all it is is the miniaturization of a digitally controlled variable resistor. These already exist. But they are large IC packages. So, this is not an AMAZING WORLD OF TOMORROW discovery, just another device put under the shrink ray.

<![CDATA[FrankenPC commented on Shrooms Change Your Life for the Better]]> I've tried shrooms in the past. What the researchers are saying is totally true. Keep in mind, the drug opens up a spiritual pathway, not to be confused with a god(s) thing. All it does is bring out your inner child and remind you of the wonder of life. The effect of that is so powerful, it will alter your reality for quite some time.

For example, when I did try these, I tried them with someone who was a chronic abuser of pot (as in woke up stoned and went to sleep stoned). She was addicted for over 15 years. After ONE experience with shrooms, she had a revelation that pot had controlled her entire life and she quit on the spot. It was weird. But, she began smoking pot again after a few months, oh well. Still, the stark revelatory power of shrooms was shocking to witness.

FYI: I don't recommend taking them. Funny men with guns may knock your door down and take you to Gitmo for "questioning" if you do.

<![CDATA[FrankenPC commented on Does the New Shape of the Solar System Prove Vernor Vinge is Right About the Galaxy?]]> I wonder if we leave the gravitational effect of our sun and the galactic core if inertia would cease to exist. Are Hadrons only something that CAN exist in a gravitational dense fabric?

Makes sense when you think about how fast the big bang propagated it's matter. That speed wouldn't have been possible if inertia was a component of the fabric the matter was traveling in.

<![CDATA[FrankenPC commented on Your Triceratops Has Arrived]]> I miss the mechanical-organic fusion of Giger. I know Ridley Scott is intensely fond of kissing his own ass for Alien. But, Giger's work was more than 50% of what made that movie amazing. We need more artists like Giger. Nakamura looks promising. But, he needs to be WAYYYY more over the top to be in Gigerland.

<![CDATA[FrankenPC commented on Could You Shoot Bendy Bullets, Just Like in "Wanted"?]]> There is nothing an object that small can do to control it's own trajectory. It's mass is virtually very high due to it's velocity. To alter it's vector of momentum, you would have to expel a large mass laterally. The tiny bullet would, in essence, have to fire another bullet sideways.

Also, putting tiny fins on the bullet will do nothing to overcome the vector momentum. Best case, the fins would try to alter the trajectory and the bullet would act like a 45cal slug and tumble. THEN it might arc. But, not in a controlled manner.

<![CDATA[FrankenPC commented on Robot Finds Melting Ice on Mars]]> Carbon and oxygen...so easy to get on so many planets. Hydrogen? Not so much even though it's one of the most abundant atoms in the universe. Odd.

Didn't NASA say dry ice would have evaporated fast. So the speed of the evaporation is the clue that it's water?

<![CDATA[FrankenPC commented on Antarctica Is Shrinking Before Your Eyes]]> @Sihanouk-s-Poodle:

Actually, my dad's a physicist, not a climatologist. University scientists share information amongst themselves at conferences. That's how he found out about this. There is so much more knowledge about the current climate issues than we are even aware of. For instance, we all are becoming aware of what was common scientific knowledge 20 years ago. Maybe it's in our best interest to be aware of that information, say, only 5 years in the past instead. BTW...books are no substitute for direct research papers. Even Hawking's books are ripped to shreds in the research arena.

Anyway, this is a sci-fi board. Let's take this to HuffingtonPost.com ;-)

<![CDATA[FrankenPC commented on Antarctica Is Shrinking Before Your Eyes]]> My dad has a PhD in Physics from Princeton. He's been working in the UC (University California) system for around 40 years interacting with other scientists around the world from America to Russia. My point is: He's connected. He see and hears the basic research 20 years before anyone else does.

Back in 1985, he told me a story about how these vast underwater beltways of ocean currents were carrying the heat from the equator to the north and south poles keeping them at bay. The titanic solar powered heater which makes Earth such a comfy place to live. He also described to me how, when global warming melts the ice sheets those underground currents will halt due to the loss of salinity (overinfused with fresh water). Then, in a period of 10 years, half of the earth will instantaneously freeze in another ice age. The hell of this prophecy is, when the caps suddenly freeze, they will reflect light/heat and the earth will take a millenium to defrost.

This was back in 1985. 20 years later, the prophecy is happening. It's not global warming we have to worry about. That's just temporary. Enjoy it. And start packing in food and ammo. When the ice comes, it will be WW III as the nations fight for the remaining farmland as if it's made of solid gold.

Many people are still bickering over whats responsible for this. Is it the unusual volcanic activity we've had in the last 100 years? Is it man made? It doesn't matter. It WILL happen and, like everything Humankind has ever done, we will die fighting rather than deal with it before it's too late. Good stuff for apocalypse novels :)

B) If rich people are this stupid, how can I tap into this vast market with equally stupid ideas?
C) I'm Amish, I don't know what porn is (HA! trick answer! Amish don't have broadband!)

<![CDATA[FrankenPC commented]]> OMFG! I'm only pissed that I didn't think of this first!

Come on people, we have WAY more going on upstairs than Monster or Denon, we can come up with a Gizmodo brand cable which is so crazy, you need proof of life insurance to own it.

I'm thinking, power cords are being seriously neglected. Yes, you have uber expensive power strips, but what about all the lowly electrons making their way from the device to the strip? All alone... What if they are vibrating? OMG! What if cell phones interfere with the pristine magic of the "juice"? The Juice needs to be perfect...how else can you say any of the other 10,000$ cables are worth it?

So, of course, the power cable will need to be state of the art carbon nanotube technology. Coated in kevlar and blessed by the pope.

I'm thinking...100$ a foot?

I can count on one hand the number of times Tuttle's have come into my life. And I remember each one of them.
