Dune is a fantasy story not science fiction (spice is magic not science). That said, I'm a librarian and I see the fantasy books coming out these days. They're like 900 pages long and 20 of them are in a series. I just don't have time for that.
Electronic Frontier Foundation Chairman Brad Templeton's views on the finale quite frankly make me want to defecate. The entire series was imbued with religion. I want my money back... Not from BSG, but from the Electronic Frontier Foundation to which I paid to put a badge on my blog.
@Itsjustcatnip: You are making far too much sense!
I think the new Trek kicks ass! Hell, even my wife who doesn't like Star Trek at all really liked the movie.
The BSG finale was not "happy." Optimistic maybe but definitely not happy. In fact there is a palpable sense of foreboding that accompanied it.
I love "Dune." But Dune IS fantasy, not science fiction. How do the pilots fold space? They use a magic dust called "spice." Incidentally, "Star Wars" isn't science fiction either (the Force)... And I love Star Wars.
Funny... I would think a Swedish countess would have her own coin?
Either way, they seem to be very gay friendly.
Agreed. That issue is a classic and that cover story is the best analysis I've read about what went down.
Craig Ferguson is funnier than the both of them put together. He had a shaky start but his shows have gotten better and better...
@Log1c: That's funny because Katee Sackhoff is actually an avid motorcyclist. Yep, she fraking rocks!
@kromekoran: I agree. The only thing that might ruin it is if they don't adequately explain how Tigh is a Cylon. His connection to Adama goes back to the First Cylon War so how could this be possible?
I've been hoping that someone would shoot Gaeta. His singing reminded me of Moulin Rouge.
