Did you mean to say "You shall not pass" is from Lord Of The Rings?
I read somewhere last week that her new romcom actually cost more to make than Watchmen. How's that possible?
@Kishi: Are you referring to "Thicker Than Water" and "Naming Of The Beasts"? If so, the former is available stateside now, and the latter in January.
My friend lent me her imported copies - definitely worth it.
Glad to see you guys included Mike Carey's "Felix Castor" books in this review. They don't yet have the name recognition of the Dresden books, and I'm always trying to convince people to give them a try.
Isn't this *another* project of his that got picked up as a film before the comic series was even completed?
@Franklin Harris: After watching "Under The Red Hood" last night with some friends, I tried explaining to them just how Jason Todd really came back, and who Darkseid is/was, and....yeah, it pretty much came off sounding like that.
@Gothamite88: EXACTLY who I was thinking of! He's much wackier than Krona!
Kinda reminds me of the "Cube Clubs" they had before the Gamecube launched. But, you know...cooler.
@AshThePirate: I actually suggested to my friend (playing Mal) that if he does that costume again (and he may for Dragon*Con) he should have Captain Hammer's shirt underneath, and pull a "Clark Kent Turning into Superman" bit at one point. Thanks, guys! It was cool seeing we made the top ten! #halloween
That honestly just looks like what my skink used to do.
George Mann's Affinity Bridge was just released this past week in the states, and according to Amazon, The Osiris Ritual is not available.
Ah, the knew-jerk consumer reaction I resisted has paid off. I KNEW they would release a package that contained everything possible. Sweet.
There's a reviewer on the Barnes & Noble's website that does this, yet as often as I feel I call her out, she still keeps showing up! She often posts "reviews" of books up to two months before they're released, always with 5 stars, and rather than actually give an opinionated critique, she just reiterates the blurb or blatantly writes out a plot summary, with something ague thrown in the end like, "Perfect for fans of thrillers!"

Seriously, catch any new or major release and you'll see her on there. Here's an easy example - [search.barnesandnoble.com] That title was just released this past Tuesday, 7/7/09. She reviewed it on 6/10/09.

Also, last check, she's posted almost 17,000 reviews!

The boardwalk in Wildwood, NJ has several cool arcades. The last time I was there was several years ago, when every single one had a DDR machine parked right out front to draw everyone in. I do recall there also being a sweet classic game arcade there for the longest time (which had an original Beer Tapper!)
The trailer acted as a cute short before UP, until you realize it isn't a short, but the trailer of a full length film!
Mike Carey's third Felix Castor novel, Dead Men's Boots, comes out in the states on or around July 23rd, according to Amazon.
@The-Simpsons-Rule!!: It's better than the "I'm Stan Lee" bit from FF2. That was the worst one by far.
Out of all of this, I'm most bummed by what has become of Tim Drake, who for years became more interesting to me than Dick Grayson. I think he needs a fun team-up with Bart Allen and Connor Kent (does he even know they're back? I've missed a lot).

I'm always willing to give Morrison another try, despite the last two events he helmed. His hit rate is always around .750 with me. Winnick, on the other hand, I have forever sworn off. I seriously want that man back at Marvel and away from some of my favorite DC characters.

I've enjoyed Rucka immensely in the past, but for some reason his Crime Bible stuff just never caught on with me. Sad to hear he's still using it in Detective now (and with Batwoman again! That characters whole existence/appearance seems to be tied up with Crime Bible thus far. Expand!).

@Ceiling90: She (Cassandra Cain) had unceremoniously become a villain for a time, and did so while still operating in the Batgirl costume! A lot of it happened in Robin and Teen Titans, IIRC. It was ultimately revealed (or reversed/fixed) that Deathstroke was basically doping her with drugs and convincing her to do his bidding (think what Stryker does with Deathstrike in X2). After that I'm not sure where she ended up.
Here's a screen grab I got a few months ago for a MySpace branded card...
