You realise there is a Japanese Cultural Center in Honolulu, not to mention the fact that Japanese culture is pretty entrenched throughout Oahu, right?
@Cash907Censored: lol, yeah, that was the part that always got me with the wires... you can't identify a cylon even though a cylon can shove bunch of cables into themselves?? Shame, the series bible sounds like a cool show to watch...
Very cool. I made a nook book cover using fabric and an old hardcover book. But for the not-so-crafty.... might I say that Amazon and Think Geek have some great geek gifts with overnight shipping...

Loved your inclusion of Neverwhere and the 10th Kingdom! I would add in addition to LoM Ashes to Ashes is also worth watching and, hey, it's a bit of a long weekend, right?
@MrTripps: Sometime I think it might be better to reread the book after watching the movie just so you're not sitting in the cinema thinking "that's not how it was in the book!"
@rainglobule: Yes! Totally true. I had that same thought about the expelliarmus spell. I do wish they had made mention of it, but I can't really complain, they did do such a faithful adaptation overall...
Was I the only one that hated the way Hedwig died in the movie? Sure it was heroic and all that, but I liked the way she died in the book. It was pointless and sad, more a casualty of war than a heroic death. But maybe that's just me. Overall though I did love this adaptation. i just wish they'd decided to split previous movies in two, we'd have more faithful movies! [igp-scifi.com]
@Stalker: I remember when he came to our school as the Green Cross Man. He also had a robot too, didn't he?
@PVIII: It wasn't really a spin off so much as a re-tool... more one last gasp of breath before the dreaded cancellation...
@CmdrHunt - Agent of Time Corps: I had the same thought, but I guess if they re-tooled the show as a low rent X-Files then I suppose that counts...
Love it! I think Imight even like that one better than the Vader Tunes commercials.
I'd watch it. But I'd much prefer to see the next in the Blood & Ice Cream series.
@radio.one: Agreed. And what's more, most movies do not need to be remade.
@CoffinDodger (If the typos crap. Blame my keyboard): Which would be a remake of remake... But seriously, I agree... Part of what's scary about the original is the mystery... is trying to put two and two together. I'm curious to see more but overall skeptical about this prequel- actually i'm skeptical about most prequels in general.
Absolutely loved Sherlock. Having recently reread Doyle's original stories, it offers pays homage to so much in the books while making it very up to date. Lets face it, this series is everything that the recent movie should've been but wasn't. I cannot wait for series two!
@Arken: lol, lucky you! We kept watching in the hopes that it would get better.... it never did. Sadly for all that it looked good, and they obviously put some thought it into certain aspects of it, it will always be Greys Anatomy in Space.
@Juleshortstuff: When you think about it though, all romantic comedies are like that. Guy gets girl, guy loses girl, guy gets girl in the end. Do we even think for a second that Meg Ryan or Sandra Bullock won't end up with the guy by the end credits? Course not. So in a way, the writer was playing with that whole mode of storytelling- the inevitability of true love in romantic comedies. Not to say that it wasn't predictable, and it wasn't exactly a fantastic movie in and of itself (course I hate rom-coms) but it was an interesting idea and it made me think a lot more than most of those types of movies.
See, telling me I need to watch it because it'll fill the void that Lost left doesn't help matters. Even before the atrocious finale, Lost was just one plot wist after another... Now if this show is not like Lost but still interesting... maybe i'll give it a go.
