Echoing the James Deen love. There's a scene he shot with Sasha Grey in Sporty Girls 2 that I watch over and over and over. When James Deen gets all dominant, oooh man.
@closetalker11: We're working on it, as quite a few people have expressed an interest, so I guess we just need a time and a place. I saw someone else suggest August 20, so maybe we can run with that?
@Infrareal: Nice! I just moved back a week and a half ago, so I'm newish again, too. I'm gonna ask my friends and see what suggestions I get, and I posted on the Boston Jezebels FB page to see if anyone responds over there.
I wrote almost this exact same piece on my own blog right after that episode of Teen Mom aired. I was appalled that they not only showed the physical attack on camera (if a guy had thrown his girlfriend into a wall and grabbed her by the throat, I doubt it would even have been aired), but didn't have the disclaimer/PSA that they do when women are assaulted.
In this season, we see Amber hit Gary again, and threaten him with her fist, and again, MTV didn't say anything about it.
@LadyChatterley: But I think it's an extreme ad against domestic violence. I'm a DV counselor and have actually been on the phone with clients while they were being beaten, and this still made me uncomfortable. It's not just *any* anti-DV ad.
@BabyJane: @alamode: @Sputnik_Sweetheart: I've never organized one before, so I'm not sure the best way to go about it, so any suggestions are appreciated. Suggestions for where to meet are also appreciated, as I just moved back to the city last week after being gone 3 years!
@emily8: Haha. I can't believe I saw this comment. I'm the person that contacted you about starting a Holla Back Boston! It's a small world on this here internet :)
To everyone that says that lesbians "just can't get a man," I have this to say: I date both men and women, and it is 100 times harder for me to get a woman than it is for me to get a man. In fact, sometimes I feel almost like I'm in heterosexual relationships because I just can't get a woman!
I get hit on more with my glasses then I ever did without them.
In fact, it's usually what men notice and comment on when hitting on me. Also, I get asked if I am a librarian or secretary ALL. THE. TIME. And most of the time, these men are dead serious with that question.
