If he creatively can't finish the series because he is out of ideas for it or has writers block, I think he should just quit. Better to have an unfinished great series than one that finishes with awful books at the end. AFfC was the weakest of the books and I would hate to see that tread continue.
I don't like this show. So I'm down with it. The sooner Joss breaks all ties to Fox forever the better. Then he can do something more original on SyFy or straight to the internet or something

@Chris Cline: The plot was a little light because it was an origin story. It was more character driven. There was no need for that type of narrative because the characters became fairly stale in the movies due to all the series.
A character drive narrative is legitimate for a origin story.

This is a poorly acted mediocrity written show. Please stop pretending it is something more. Let it die so Joss can move onto something more worthy of his talents.
Seriously, we get it. BSG was deeper than most if not all previous science fiction series.
But it was still deeply flawed, inconsistent and had to rely heavily on flashbacks in the finally to make nearly all the character arks make sense. This shows that they did not properly develop the characters in the course of the series.
If you compare it to non science fiction then it gets a 3.5/4 stars at best. Please keep it in perspective. Compared to say Rome, early Sopranos, the Wire and the Shield BSG does not measure up.
