Hey guys, any help would be appreciated with this.
My 4 year old 80GB iPod Video headphone jack has decided to die on me. When headphones or speakers are fully plugged in only the right speaker works. Pulling it out halfway I can get sound out of both speakers, but very quiet. I've checked to make sure the headphones etc are working and they're all fine.
I replaced the entire headphone jack/lock button hoping that would fix it but I still have exactly the same problem... That would suggest (unless I'm unfortunate enough to have bought a faulty replacement part) it's not an issue with the headphones OR the jack.
What should I do? Take it apart, put it back together again, hope for a different outcome? /: There's no way I can afford a new, similar capacity, MP3 player right now ): #whitenoise
Concept designs like this annoy me. It's a nice idea, but no-where near feasible. Where does the battery go for starters?

@OCEntertainment: when 40% of your new subscribers are signing up for the phone you have exclusively, you should be concerned when you lose that exclusivity...
@IcoSotc: 6 am... I guess I'll be finding out what's happened when I wake up.
@dparks: I'm expecting a shitstorm when I say this but...

As a European (yes, my opinion on this issue is now, obviously, invalid) people in the US have NO IDEA what fuel tax is.

Have a picture. Current UK fuel prices are around £1.30 a litre. That's about $5 a gallon, of which 62.8% is tax.

Cheap fuel is already happening in the US, and it's the reluctance to raise prices that is pushing oil companies to try and save money wherever possible.

If renewables were made attractive through government subsidies (like the billions in subsidies given to oil companies) then maybe you'd see more growth in that sector.

Yes oil companies are greedy. But that's kind of how most large companies, if not countries, operate. What incentive do they have to change what they're doing? I bet they still made a huge profit from the Deepwater Horizon as a whole.
@BoltBoy: The downside with our UK carriers is that none of them do unlimited internet.
Though, I'd definitely choose a UK carrier anyday. You'd be looking at over $100 a month for a something similar to my £25 a month contract.
Plus I got my HTC Magic free with mine, 18 months ago, when the Mytouch 3G would have cost $200 in the States.
Blah blah, let's all yell at BP.

"And don't you dare start drilling for more deep sea oil! Don't you ever learn?!"

"Wait, why are my fuel prices going up? What is this? COMMUNISM?!"

"I demand cheap fuel, but I get furious when you start making new wells. I mean, surely there's stuff that isn't in high risk zones, yeh? Because that's how businesses work - go for the difficult and expensive option rather than the most cost efficient option. I'm pretty sure I could run your business better than you do"
For the first time I have spent the last couple of weeks filling up notebooks with notes and example questions while revising for exams and I feel more prepared than I have for any of my previous university exams.

Due to achievements I spend far longer playing a game and get a lot more enjoyment and feeling of ACHIEVEMENT from completing everything.

Well done achievements help the player explore aspects of the game that are not essential and could have been skipped in a normal playthrough.

I've spent hours running around Rome in AC: Brotherhood after completing the game and it's given me a chance to really appreciate the amount of work the developers put in to creating the game. I'm still playing the multiplayer to get to level 50 and get the final achievement.

I spent MONTHS of Guitar Hero 3 trying to hit 5* on every song. Never did... only Raining Blood stopped me, and it pains me to this day that if I could just do that I'd unlock about 150GS. If there were no achievements I would have probably played through each song once and never played again.

There's an iPhone app called Epic Win that lets you write up a to-do list and get rewarded with RPG style EXP upon completing each one which levels up your character. It's REAL LIFE ACHIEVEMENTS! It's how we're going to all be motivating ourselves in 10 years.
@hagren: it's more "edgy". It really "pops" more.
The GBA was $100 in the US?!
Mother f*****s...
11 year old me saved up for a good year to turn over 129 Great British Pounds for mine.

As a cheap-ass student I won't be getting a 3DS on launch day, if at all. Don't feel I'm missing out looking at the launch titles.
My list of must have features;
HTC
Not just my Nexus one with a bigger screen

It's been a year and it seems to me like HTCs phone are still essentially a N1 on the inside. Hoping for something new at MWC as I'm looking to upgrade around April.
I seriously am so proud of the BBC. I have no complaints paying my TV license to fund some of the awesome programming they do.
My problem is she keeps coming up in that list of 10 or so friends on my profile ¬_¬
Seriously, 4 months since the break, I've hidden her from my feed, added her to the "block list" for chat, haven't interacted with anything to do with her, haven't even visited her profile and she's still there half the time.
WHAT DOES IT TAKE?!

Has anyone found out how FB chooses those people yet?
Personally I think even the UK version was only good for the first 2 seasons.

But I'm biased. They filmed it at my college and I'm in a few scenes ;D

From my experience the people who really like Skins are the people who are the same age as the cast members. The first UK season started during my first year of college (not university... I don't know the US equivalent. High school? Whatever you do between 16 and 18). Me and my friends loved the first two seasons. Our progress through college matched the casts'. People a year younger than us weren't so keen on it, they started college as the cast finished, and finished as a new cast started. People two years younger didn't pay any attention to it but for seasons 3 and 4 my sister and her friends were really into it as it coincided with their college years.
@zack10house: Haha, yeah! I got my little sister to hold the green button for me in the intro to Through the Fire and the Flames... I saw the two hand tapping videos on Youtube and thought, "SCREW THAT."
@zack10house: I played that song for hours straight... trying to get that elusive 5* rating.

Never did, and it pains me to this day that that one song is the only thing keeping me from well over 150GS. At some point I realised my life was more important than gamerscore and quit for good...
