<![CDATA[Comments from Monsieur.Mind]]> <![CDATA[Comments from Monsieur.Mind]]> <![CDATA[Monsieur.Mind commented on Is George Miller's Justice League Officially Dead?]]> Makes Supes and Batman older (40s? 50s?) mentors to a team of younger heroes (20s and 30s) and forget about the casting dilemmas represented by Bale and Routh.

And if Miller is indeed off the project, let's hope we get a look at WETA's costume designs one of these days.

And while I'm on the subject of costumes, why did the Daredevil DVD not have Affleck's costume test in the comic-style costume as an extra feature? And why didn't the Spider-Man dvd not have the costume tests of the different Green Goblin versions they tried? Comics->film costume historians represent!

<![CDATA[Monsieur.Mind commented on Choose Your Wonder Woman]]> How about George Miller's actual choice for WW in the JLA movie? Megan Gale. Sooo much better than Megan Fox. Frickin fanboys.

<![CDATA[Monsieur.Mind commented on Jar-Jar Does It Again In This Week's Sub-Par Clone Wars]]> Flaws aside, this ep had a very good, multi-flavored score. Was very happy to hear the Celtic-style jig music, as well as the Middle-Eastern-style chanting. Hopefully a series score will be released soon. The film score is out, but the series music is much more interesting IMO.

<![CDATA[Monsieur.Mind commented on New X-Men Trailer: Days Of Future Awesome!]]> Seen some eps. Best X-Men toon so far. Nightcrawler is one of the most kick-ass shitkickers around. They capture his power second only to X2's 1st scene.

<![CDATA[Monsieur.Mind commented on Costume Designs and Storyboards from the Dune That Never Was]]> Was the entire film storyboarded? I've always seen snippets of Moebius's art in every article that mentioned this film over the years. Has anybody ever contacted him to see how much storyboarding was ever done?

Please, someone put together a definitive book about Jodorowsky's Dune. Let's have interviews with Pink Floyd, let's have the screenplay, let's have ALL the art. Hot diggity dawg, this would sell like hotcakes among the faithful.

Or put together a "motion graphics" version, based on the screenplay and storyboards! Or just a graphic novel! Or just a screenplay annotated w/the full artwork and some demo tracks from Pink Floyd!

We must see more!!!!

<![CDATA[Monsieur.Mind commented on It's Your Own Mobile, Weaponized Laser Unit!]]> Can't they make it look like a giant gun at least? It looks like a hard-drive. I don't care if it can blow up a battlecruiser, there's no way I'm duct-taping a friggin hard-drive to the top of my Fiat!

<![CDATA[Monsieur.Mind commented on First Pictures Of Four Alien Planets!]]> "Porny" made me immediately look at that top "mouth of a fish" in a completely different way.

<![CDATA[Monsieur.Mind commented on Shave Your Wrists with Heroes]]> I liked this episode. Best one this season. It made characters more interesting, and "retconned" (in quotes, because, like, whatevah) Elle and Sylar et al into slightly less preposterous caricatures than they've been all along. The whole Sylar-is-really-good thing from this season didn't sit well with me until this episode, which made that angle believable. And the whole Elle-is-a-socially-phobic-SnM-freakazoid is much less interesting than what we saw in this last ep.

BTW, @all of you, the whole "fail" meme, as in "full of fail"/"made of fail"/etc, should be retired. It's ridiculously overused, never sounded clever to begin with, and makes it hard to take your critiques of someone else's writing seriously.

<![CDATA[Monsieur.Mind commented on A Computer Program That is Pure Evil]]> Hopefully when it gets loose it won't cause out of control speculation on oil, rampant shorting of financial stocks, or panic on Wall Street.

Hopefully it will just focus on what's really important: using the LHC to create enough black holes to counter the giant sucking sound we're hearing these days.

<![CDATA[Monsieur.Mind commented on Bill Murray Could Have Been Your Batman]]> Wasn't Eddie Murphy considered as Robin to Murray's Batman?

I would have loved to have this version. To think we wuz robbed of what might've been one of the great comedies of he 80s. Sigh. It wouldn't have prevented Nolan coming in 15 years later and rebooting, right? Or maybe it would've led to a funny Spiderman, a hilarious Xmen, and a very serious Superhero: The Movie.

<![CDATA[Monsieur.Mind commented on Defiant Sulu Blasts Back at William Shatner's 'Big, Shining, Demanding Ego']]> I like pretending that this is happening between Sulu and Kirk. If only McCoy was still alive... "Dammit, I'm a doctor not a crew counselor."

<![CDATA[Monsieur.Mind commented on One Person Rocketship is Like a Cruel Form of Punishment]]> The position is actually a very comfortable one. Mission Space at Epcot is designed the same way, and has about the same amount of space for you to move in. Cramped quarters? No more cramped than you'd be inside an Iron Man suit, hugging a stick in an F16, or a race-car. Come on. Going into space isn't for wimps.

<![CDATA[Monsieur.Mind commented on New Watchmen Footage Is Lovely And Tormented]]> Wow, Rorshach and Nite Owl seem a lot more badass than I remember from the comic. I never pictured either of them having such "cool" moves. Am I remembering the comic wrong or is this a product of the movie?

<![CDATA[Monsieur.Mind commented on Who's The Tallest Giant Robot Of Them All?]]> Look, it doesn't really matter what didn't make the list. The list exists to gives today's premier roboticists something to measure their work against. Size is clearly the most important facet of mechanical constructions today, and I for one welcome a scale by which to measure. Unfortunately it means I have to now build a shrinkage ray because my latest creation, Marvingor XXXY Tet Ayan, is TOO BIG TO EVEN HOUSE IN THIS UNIVERSE and if it's ever gonna make the list, it clearly has to be more accessible. And there's no way I'm taking it apart again after what happened last time. So shrink ray it has to be. Goodbye cruel wor-- er, pocket universe!

<![CDATA[Monsieur.Mind commented on Lucas/Spielberg-Nostalgia Flick 77 Should Be Series]]> Oh my. Young Steven Spielberg and Young Shia LaBeouf... separated at birth, or merely heavily quantumly entangled? Perhaps the result of a teleportation accident at ILM's R&D division. Discuss.

What's clear is that there's obviously some time paradox at work, the causes and consequences of which are yet to be fully apparent, but which will almost certainly be disasterous once observed and grokked.

<![CDATA[Monsieur.Mind commented on My Unstable Green Friend, My Enemy - Hulk To Go Bad?]]> Definitely go with the Skrulls (but not Secret Invasion). Much more epic. And brings it more towards sci-fi. Hulk as villain? As was said by others here, even a rampaging, frenzied Hulk isn't really a villain. It would work as the villain's secret weapon, but otherwise where's the suspense? The scheming? The eeeeevil?

Plus allies turning bad was done in Iron Man already, and will probably be done in Thor. Sigh. If only Marvel still controlled the film rights to Doctor Doom.

Hmm... actually, you know what'd be pretty cool? The Avengers vs an army of (Namor led-)Atlanteans pissed off at a Hulk-sized poo polluting the water over Atlantis.

<![CDATA[Monsieur.Mind commented on If We Can Have Wonder Woman Day, Where's Our Wonder Woman Movie?]]> Introduce her in the Superman sequel. Gets the WW-ventures-forth-into-man's-world-for-the-first-time scenario out of the way, introduces Supes into the bigger world of tights and capes, and adds an interesting character conflict (if you give WW the same near-disdain for "man's world" she showed in New Frontier).
