@LauraAnnT: Unfinishitis: promise someone you're going to give them a new chapter every 3 days, and then keep the schedule. But if you're going to do that, you'll definitely want an outline.
If you're feeling bored with your outline, leave holes in it, and fill them on the fly with random words and ideas. That keeps things interesting.
