If anyone were to do a Seuss/Who mashup other than The Cat in the Hat, I would've thought that turning Whoville into a village filled with trenchcoat-clad goofballs sacrificing themselves to rescue old men from radiation-flooded control booths every Christmas would have been a more obvious gag.
While I feel that Moffat *has* been guilty of pulling the "everyone is miraculously saved at the last moment!" trick out of his bag of tricks a bit too often (see The Empty Child/Silence in the Library/The Big Bang), Season 5 was definitely my favorite slice of Who since the new series began (especially that time-bending season finale).
That said, I'm anticipating seeing our poor Doctor getting his nose throughly bloodied before Season 6 is over...
Just a note to mention that thanks to Charlie Jane (and popular demand), prints of the Amy Pond piece (and a related piece featuring River Song) are now available for sale here: [mudron.bigcartel.com]
@Arsnof: Don't worry, I'll get back to those someday. I'm working on a comic book about the history of Nintendo, and if that pans out, I want to get back to Anne Frank next.
@Ruthless if you let me: Yep, photo-lifting is a common practice, though one that's only even vaguely excusable if you're forthcoming with the source material and NOT lifting directly from another artist's drawn artwork (though god knows that happens, too.)
I think most everyone would admit that Allison Stokke would make a pretty great Catwoman, though (at least to look at).
@Ruthless if you let me: Yep, you got me - I'll do a Photoshop tracing every once in awhile from an existing photograph if I'm just fixated on getting a costume design down. It's a dirty habit I picked up from Ian McCaig's work on the Star Wars prequels, of all places (especially the photo-lifting he did for the designs of young Obi-Wan, using press photos of Russell Crowe).
