@Shinta: Sure this awards will always only go for the most mainstream games on the market, not the actual games who deserve them. It's the same for any top lists in general.
Did not know Zwei where being localized, one of the best titles from Falcom if you ask me, an awesome action RPG to PC. Is it the console crap or the actual PC ver who is coming?
There is some interesting research in the project about realistic time frame on how we can reach the nearest star. If we solve one problem and yes only one problem we can reach there within 40 years with an acceleration an human would survive.
The core problem is the fuel to reach there, if we can solve a way to have an 100% energy efficient to movement it does not take very much to get there at all, in fact we already produce way more electricity then that would require on earth yearly. However the most effective engines we have today is not even remotely 100% more closer to 10%.
Granted this alone ignore other problems such as food, air, debris in space and so on :P there is always millions of other things to think of. But the core problem is to first be able to get a ship there in any way of form :P
However that being said :P the closest star does NOT contain as far as we know any good planet to start to live on :)
@MichaelPalin: Depends on country, as you can see example for Germany, PC gaming is much more then Console. Keep in mind that both Portal & MMO should be counted into console gamming.
Overall PC gaming is pretty big in Europe over all, example Sweden it's the leeding one.
Granted one thing have made PC game die a bit, and the reason for that is pretty much the much lower number of games releasing for it.
If you want the game to be 'fair' to what the galaxy really look like you need to start make them pitch black, that include the area of the picture above. Now you ask me why is that? Well that picture is taken and recorded with a MUCH wider spawn than the visual light for us.
Then remaped into our visual light spectrum and you get pictures like that.
Granted pics like this is cool and good looking but in the end if you where actually there seeing that, it would look pretty much black with some colored stars around.
@LaneWinree: Terra's theme will always be the best one :) granted I usually prefer some remixes of it :) but still pretty much the same song.
My favorite one is granted
@salmonbottle: "One game is not going to directly cause rape, but why is there an audience for rape games?"
Why is there an audience for voilent games? Does Voilent games cause more crimes to? As you seem to be an expert on this subject, clarify this for us or just your bias ideas?
@Inzoum: Xbox 360 have support for all of those, and had since start however you could not STORE anything on them, just eg use them to play media files.
Just looking at that video and the other specially the youtube explonation you quite clearly see it seems to be reading issisues, it can either be really bad batch of pressed blu-ray or/and that the PS3's bluray drives starts to die for quite a few.
Sony is quite famous for having overall bad media drives on all there consoles, been an existing problem from PSX to PS2 at least. Eg on the third PS2 due the dvd player dying.
@psycoking: 80ms back and fort, what he talk about was the to send info and to recive it back.
HOWEVER it doesn't really work that way the big problem will be bandwidth who decide the framerate you will recive. Sure it will take 40ms for the data from there server to you but even with that, it doesn't reflect what actual frame rate is possible to send, they can send 30 FPS frames or 60FPS, the biggest consern here is how fast they can convert it to video on there end and if your able to recive enough data.
But they already claimed there system convert the video in 1ms which is a mayor feat if you ask me, however that guy is also behind a LOT of encoding algorithms so he's probably not lying in that regard.
There is however only one problem with the entire delay problem and that is if you will start feel like you do a movement and that it doesn't happen before way later. Thats pretty much the only problem. And according to them 80ms is the limit of when it happens. I don't know never played a game type of this myself but will be more interesting to see when it comes out and how it works.
Well my favorite writer for now ( for TV shows at least :P ) is Steven Moffat and for those who don't know he's mostly just been doing guest work to Doctor Who ( he now takes over S5 which I'm happy for his ) However his guest work in Doctor Who have all been the absolute best show in this weird SF niche series.
Personally in terms of TV shows it's just been an disaster of late, no I don't even like BSG, later Stargate have been meh to, just to dragged out. I miss Babylon 5 and older Star Trek, but for now we DO have Doctor Who :)
