my only problem with Excel is that it (last I knew) does not support VB and macros, so sheets that work fine on the Windows version of Excel will not work in the Mac version.
EDIT: Missed that paragraph, above. My bad. Might have to look into getting the 2011 version, then.
@kyre: I've been using it for months over a standard cablemodem, and outside of the odd modem reboot (which is a problem on Comcast's side) I haven't seen any problems...
And yes, the Ownership issue is what seems to come up frequently in discussions I've had with other geeks.
@Lite: an adventurer is me!: I don't know about other airports, but most of the ones I've ben to recently, paying into the LAN is something that you have to do at a kiosk that is located at the check-ins, not in the terminals.
On the larger issue, however, I am wondering why they would feel the need to pat-down a boy after he was able to pass the Metal Detector without issue int eh first place? Don't they need some kind of probable cause? Plus, I can tell you that as a father of a child who is a handful when traveling at the best of times, I'd be more than a little pissed off also to have to deal with this unwarranted complication.
If the TSA have the right to seize posessions, invade my privacy, and essentially engage in practices of Law Enforcement, then they should be held to the same standards of Probable Cause as Law Enforcement.
What about Daredevil? I would definitely put that into the "screw Up" category, if only because of the way Elektra was handled, but on the other hand, she was always a bit of a strange one to begin with.
X-Men (and to a lesser extent, X2) I would say were successes, and Blade was done RIGHT.
What if you took Graphene sheets, and wove them in to a fabric?it should be possible, if difficult to essentially folt that into a larger, 3-dimensional form or greater volume... possibly like a honeycomb?
@Tudza White: There's a great episode of Radiolab recently that talked about language and its central role in cognition.
As a student of Epistemology and Metaphysics, I find it manifestly plausible that a sufficiently unique language could not only be difficult if not impossible to translate, but that a mind that grew into maturity with that language as its only way to organize information could be capable of "holding" understanding of things that can not exist without it.
"Language is the Unit of Thought" someone once said (Daniel Dennet, I want to say). It makes sense that if you have a language that is truly unlike any that has been documented, that it could have thoughts that are also unlike any we have encountered.
@ParryLost: Well, we could take our time. If you needed additional living space, it could be excavated, and the materials contained on the asteroid could conceivably provide fuel and resources for whomever is making the journey, as well as once they "arrived"
All we'd need is some kind of variable-function, retoolable factory.
@ddhboy: I think that depends ENTIRELY on who NI has partnered with... there has been allot of speculation that the Adam will be tied to some very big guns which would help immensely with publicity. Not only that, but the Adam has been the apple of the Geek's eye (puns intended) since at least last year...
As cool as zombies are right now, zombie films (Sean of the Dead being the exception) have always creeped the HELL out of me... I never watch them. But this? This sounds good enough to see.
