@abcars: Generally speaking Americans have not seen British actors before and in addition British actors usually are cheaper. The casting directors get someone who will not pull the viewer out of the film and they get to save a bit of cash.
@gorehound: Unfortunately it is not historically accurate. They tried to paint the period as "reason vs religion" and that was not just the case historically.
Why in the hell are people bitching? At worst it will probably be better than most auto programing in the United States. It is not like the US version is taking the place of the UK version. We are getting more.
@BMRFILE: There is plenty of good programing on cable. You seem, like many, to overestimate the quality of British program. There are spots of goodness but most is crap. Read the British papers, they say the same.
Is anyone glad that they will not be following the comic panel for panel? I seem to be one of the few who is actually happy that the show will be going in its own direction. I do not need the same story I already read, it would be redundant.
@cinnamonster: The synopsis has been released for future episodes and it appears that they will be deviating from the comic quite a bit. That is only a good thing in my opinion. I do not want to see the same stories I have already read.
@Cash907Censored: I didn't find it slow at all. In fact I would be quite alright if they have slowed it down more. Just the main character, scenery, and zombies.
@Cash907Censored: Are you serious. You do realize the writer from the comic is heavily involved in the series right? We do not need a panel for panel reproduction. This series is telling different stories.
