Well this really bites. Not a whole lot of reasons to watch SyFy anymore.
Anyone know if they're moving ahead with Blood and Chrome and the Farscape webisode thingy that's been in the pipeline for the last 10 years? Those were really the only reason I'd still even consider tuning in to the channel.
One of the best supernatural episodes, hands down, of all time. I'm still reeling. Last time an episode of tv has done this to me, was maybe, 'The Constant.'
I actually didn't love this book as much as Freedom, honestly, and found it lacking depth. The chapter in power point was neat, but in the end, I thought it probably detracted from the overall book, and made the whole thing very short. I also thought Mitchell's latest and Super Sad True Love Story were far better (and both mixed in various fantasy and scifi elements).
I always wonder what agents and publicists say to actors when this certain side of fandom starts going overboard on certain actors (i.e. Fillion, Felicia Day) - do they embrace it with open arms? I'm saying that because I wonder if Rockwell is falling into that cycle, looking at the title of this post, and the general rave geek reaction to Moon. I'm not saying it's bad or good either way, I just wonder if the actor considers and his people consider it desirable from a business end. I mean for Fillion, it's gotta suck a bit, since geeks try and get him attached to every genre film that comes up, and with someone like Day, I don't see the appeal, but her name also seems to come up a lot when geeks start fan-casting stuff. Kind of a bit of an aside.
But the trailer looked pretty damn snazzy -- much more than the last one. Hope Ford doesn't cheese up his role too much though.
I would then do what the X-files did - i.e. keep everything dark and practical, as Owen said. Really, if you can't make it any good via CGI, don't do it, because it's going to make the entire show less credible.
What a great episode. I'm a huge Ginn fan (loved the actress in Supernatural as well - what a terrible send-off she got in that show, huh?), and the final scene was really touching. I still think Eli has some acting problems, but overall, really enjoyed the episode. Sad to see this show go.
Yeah, I couldn't really remember (time for a rewatch?), but if he had popped up as the same character that really would've been some neat continuity... oh well!
This show really is terrible. I watched all two hours last night, and then at the end I hated myself for wasting my time. I think this one is finally off the list.
I am someone who really only watched the first few seasons of Smallville, and then came back this season and find myself really enjoying a good chunk of what is going on.
I'll admit I enjoyed this episode too. Maybe it's just how comfortable the characters and actors have gotten over the years, with each other, with the scripts, etc., but I just thought it was fun, dumb, and a hopelessly naive episode, which is lacking in a lot of other shows that take themselves too seriously. You could really tell that Welling was having a blast, and IS having blast this season (not to mention this show has probably made me a gajillionaire). The cast really gels. I don't even know Chloe's whole story (as I said, I really only watched the first few seasons), and I thought that last scene was touching in a sappy, stupid way.
Anyways, what I'm saying is this show has gotten all goey and silly, but it's in a nice way, and I'm enjoying it. Puts me in a good mood anyways.
I assumed this was going to very, very bad, but I actually really liked it. Not only that, but it didn't seem cheap in the slightest (could have easily been on network tv). The final scene actually had me all tensed up. And Mark Pellegrino! Great in everything and a nice surprise.
Completely disagree with the inclusion of Scott Pilgrim - really thought the last book was a poor imitation of the preceding books. Love the props to Hellboy, which has blown it out of the water this year.
Would add:
Fraction's run on Iron Man Chew (this book is just amazing) BKV's end run on Ex Machina Walking Dead and Invincible were both great this year... Sweet Tooth The Farscape Comics (including Scorpius) - found these spot on character wise, with a really interesting ongoing Arc (though the art ranged from poor to mediocre). Makes me miss the series even more.
