]]>
<![CDATA[Sharpless commented on Watch How Faithful Watchmen Will Be]]> I've never read Watchmen (though I'd like to), but this trailer has officially made me interested in this. It definitely sounds and looks compelling.

<![CDATA[Sharpless commented on Arnold Will Be In T4 After All (Sort Of)]]> This guy's actually played Arnold in a TV biopic before, so he's at least had some practice.

]]>
<![CDATA[Sharpless commented on The Spirit Trailer Tries Too Hard To Get Some]]> That was downright embarrassing.

]]>
<![CDATA[Sharpless commented on Cinema's Captain America... Revealed! Okay, Not Really]]> That video made me smile, in the same way that one smiles at a retarded puppy. In all seriousness though, I don't think he looks the part at all. He looks like a caricature of a comic book character. He'd make a better-looking The Tick, than Cap.

]]>
<![CDATA[Sharpless commented on What If We Had Advanced Alien Tech During World War II?]]> Apparently, we also had boobs. Great, big, wonderful (alien?) boobs.

]]>
<![CDATA[Sharpless commented on In Defense Of Rodney McKay]]> @meirelle: Really? That "broad"? 0_o She's just an obnoxious, one-note excuse for the oversexed writers to drop bad innuendo. I'd rather subject myself to Vala's mugging.

]]>
<![CDATA[Sharpless commented on In Defense Of Rodney McKay]]> While I am a fan of the character, I do think they've overused him a bit, as well as overdone it with his "quirks." It's like they're over-relying on his arrogance and whininess because they can't write anything better or smarter. Lazy writing, basically.

Also, I tend to talk like him sometimes, particularly when he rambles really fast or gets sarcastic. And yes, that's probably a bad thing.

]]>
<![CDATA[Sharpless commented on Um, About That Asteroid That Wasn't Going to Hit Us...]]> I'll be in my fifties around then. I don't think I'll object to it.

]]>
<![CDATA[Sharpless commented on Entertainment Industry: Please Stop Pandering To My Generation!]]> Okay, no. Just, no. You call 8-bit crappy? Holy fucking Elvis! You've lost your legal right to ever play another video game ever again. Go to bed. No, on second thought, just get out of the house. You're adopted.

I'm not saying all these things are good, but I would much rather that they pander to me with all this stuff that's based on cool things, instead of stuff based on crappy things. Like it or not, Hollywood will always be unoriginal, so they may as well be unoriginal with stuff that I like, or once liked. I say, bring it on. There are scarier alternatives.

]]>
<![CDATA[Sharpless commented on Dr. Horrible's Freeze Ray Will Stop the World]]> I'm really looking forward to (eventually) watching this. I'm a newcomer to the Whedon universe (Firefly, mostly) and this has three of my favorite people starring in it. (Yes, I love me some Felicia Day. *swoon*)

]]>
<![CDATA[Sharpless commented on You've Got Comic-Con Questions, and We've Got Answers]]> Please ask Amanda Tapping if she would please hurry up and leave that husband of hers. I really mustn't be kept waiting much longer. A schedule to keep, and all that.

]]>
<![CDATA[Sharpless commented on Lost Planet Movie Will be Starship Troopers On Ice]]> Ahem. More importantly, David is also the English-language voice of the oh-so-awesome Solid Snake, in the Metal Gear Solid video games. Just FYI. :) (Also, I don't think MGS needs a movie. The games are cinematic enough as they are.)

]]>
<![CDATA[Sharpless commented on Clone Wars' Baby Jedi Is Marked For Death]]> @Jeyl: Nope, that doesn't hold up at all. First of all, who's R4? R4s are astromech droids. Not exactly an example of a female. While the "blue-colored Twi'lek" (Aayla Secura) gets shot dead, you make it sound like she was the only Jedi to die. She was one of many, and the only major female Jedi character to die. Shaak Ti survived the movies, since her death scene was removed and is, thus, not canon. She officially lives at least until the Force Unleashed video game.

There. Done geeking out. Maybe Lucas has women issues, but I don't think there's any evidence in what you posted.

]]>
<![CDATA[Sharpless commented on Meet Your Potential New Barbarella And Weep]]> @Annalee Newitz: But Jane Fonda had a similarly vacant sort of thing going on, at times. I don't usually think of Zooey as a sex symbol though, despite how beautiful she is.

I honestly can't think of a single woman that would be perfect for the role. How about we just not make the movie, instead?

]]>
<![CDATA[Sharpless commented on Stargate Atlantis Season 5: New Aliens And Cameos]]> As I've said before, I'm not liking where the show is right now. However, one thing has sold me and kept me hanging on: Bill Motherfuckin' Nye. My mind, it is blown.

@hannelore: The Ori weren't anymore of a critique on Christianity than the Goa'uld were, and I'm pretty sure the writers have said something to that effect. (I'll try to dig around for it.) It's more about unquestioningly following a belief system, even when it hurts you and others, and about the abuse of authority and power -- something which Christians, Muslims, atheists, and people of just about any other belief system, have been guilty of, at one time or another.

And if you'll recall, Teal'c spoke quite positively of the Bible and the possibility of a "higher power" in a couple of episodes. I'm not saying they're buddy-buddy with Christianity, but I'm pretty sure they haven't been trying to make any significant statements about it.

<![CDATA[Sharpless commented on George Lucas Will Change The Way Hollywood Works — Again]]> George Lucas makes me feel ill.

]]>
<![CDATA[Sharpless commented on Secret Origins Of Vader's Apprentice And Dr. Horrible]]> Almost forgot...

@JennaW: Yeah, Stargate has some of the most blindly, rabidly devoted fans of any show. They choked down so much of the bullshit from SG-1's final two seasons, and they continue to swallow the one-note characters and recycled plotlines of Atlantis, all with a big smile on their faces.

Top fansite Gateworld has a poll for every new episode, where fans rank the episode on a scale of 1-10. Without fail, every single new episode gets an overwhelming amount of 10s. Judging from the polls, you think that seasons nine and ten of SG-1 were flawless. And heaven forbid you say anything negative about the series on their forums.

Ugh, people exhaust me so. I'm fine with people disagreeing, but fanboys should all be hit in the face repeatedly with the box they kept Teal'c's personality in in season nine.

]]>
<![CDATA[Sharpless commented on Secret Origins Of Vader's Apprentice And Dr. Horrible]]> @iCurmudgeon: They've been out of ideas for years. I used to be a diehard SG-1 fan until season eight, and I was an Atlantis fan for the first couple of seasons. Then I realized that the show wasn't changing. It was the same old shit, over and over again. The characters remained one-note and repetitive, even the better ones.

In short, Atlantis is now Generic Sci-Fi Show #2593. The truly good episodes are far and few between, anymore.

Also, the man's name is "Kolya," not "Koyla."

<![CDATA[Sharpless commented on 9 Ways Hancock Could Have Been A Pretty Good Movie]]> @Charlie Jane Anders: But honestly though, if you liked Meteor Man, is life really even worth living?

]]>
<![CDATA[Sharpless commented on Don Davis, Stargate's Beloved General, RIP]]> God rest him. He was one of the best parts of that show. When he left, the show became noticeably less enjoyable. I'm sorry to see him go. :(

]]>
<![CDATA[Sharpless commented on Is This The First Poster From The New Transformers Movie?]]> Um, could it be, oh I don't know... The Fallen? Geez, people, obvious answer is obvious. If it's real, that is. Definitely resembles Fallen, though.

]]>
<![CDATA[Sharpless commented on 10 Books That Were Better Off on Paper]]> My dad loves Minority Report. He even has it as the desktop wallpaper on his computer. Big ol' picture of a one-eyed Tom Cruise. Chills the fuck out of me, everytime I see it.

I take mild offense to the inclusion of This Island Earth. It really isn't that bad. And you can't really use MST3K as yardstick for its suckiness, because the folks at MST chose it because it wasn't that bad. (They said that, if they were to pick a movie of Manos' caliber, mainstream audiences wouldn't be able to handle it, so they chose one that was "kinda good.") Though, frankly, I never realized it was a book.

]]>
<![CDATA[Sharpless commented on Doctor Who's Russell T. Davies Is The Gay Michael Bay]]> Davros really is evil! His website crashed Firefox!

@Charlie Jane Anders: You know, I've got to be completely honest with you: I have absolutely no problem with her ass, whatsoever.

]]>
<![CDATA[Sharpless commented on Adam West Wants To Play Batman Snr. In New Movie]]> I wouldn't mind him making an appearance. But not as Mr. Wayne. He's dead. He looked nothing like Adam West. End of story. And Burt Ward should just play Robin, if/when they introduce him in the movies. Yep.

]]>
<![CDATA[Sharpless commented on Eight Toys You Can't Leave Comic-Con Without]]> Obligatory Transformers Nerd Comment: Actually, that particular Nemesis Prime is not a clone of Optimus. It's a Decepticon that was, for some unknown reason, rebuilt to resemble Prime. So, not a clone in the strictest sense. I think some of the other Nemesis Primes were, though. Okay, I'm done.

(Though, honestly, I think the Con-exclusive bust of a mid-teleportation Skywarp is far more note-worthy than one of Hasbro's many repaints.)

]]>
<![CDATA[Sharpless commented on Did Red Sonja Kill Barbarella?]]> @moff: Fair enough. Mainstream nepotism. :)

]]>
<![CDATA[Sharpless commented on Wanted's Original Ending Makes Contempt For Audience Into Art Form]]> Okay, okay, settle down. I have a compromise that will keep everyone happy:

Both the movie and the comic are absolute, goddamn shit. There! See? Let's hug.

]]>
<![CDATA[Sharpless commented on Is Star Wars Just A Video Game Franchise Now?]]> The Force Unleashed actually sounds and looks good, which puts it lightyears ahead of The Clone Wars. Frankly, I'm going to bet that anyone who doesn't play TFU is going to be missing out on something at least moderately special. It's the only Star Wars property that's worth hyping.

Anything Lucas tries to put on TV or on the big screen is irreparably awful. TCW might be a lesser evil, but I wouldn't shed a single tear if Lucas folded production on all Star Wars TV and movie projects, forever. The man can do no right these days, and I hope that his input doesn't hurt Unleashed. Otherwise, so long as the games and novels continue to be decent, I'll just rely on them for my Star Wars fix.

]]>
<![CDATA[Sharpless commented on Stargate: Continuum Brings Together Evil System Lords Of Past]]> It's Ra, Camulus, Yu, Cronus, and Nirrti, some of the better system lords. Good to see them again. I couldn't care less about stupid, annoying Vala and her Goa'uld. And they drove Baal into the ground, during the last two seasons.

]]>
<![CDATA[Sharpless commented on Did Red Sonja Kill Barbarella?]]> First of all, Rodriguez is an asshole for leaving his wife and kids for McGowan. Secondly, Rose McGowan is a cunt for being a homewrecker. Third, since when did nepotism come back in style?

Okay, I'm done. Do not want.

]]>
<![CDATA[Sharpless commented on James Kirk's Earliest Challenge, In J.J. Abrams' Star Trek]]> Those Transformers spoilers must be referring to the (stupid) Allspark. There are only so many things in this world that one would ever tell Megan Fox not to touch.

]]>
<![CDATA[Sharpless commented on Secrets Of The Joker's Scruples And Wall-E's Weird Humans]]> Have you never heard the phrase "the best of both worlds" before? Definitely not a Star Trek reference. They're unoriginal, but not that unoriginal.

]]>
<![CDATA[Sharpless commented on Saturn Awards Crown Cloverfield Best Scifi Film]]> Boo, Cloverfield. Yay, Lost.

It almost hurts my brain, having I Am Legend, Cloverfield, and Transformers all in the same paragraph. It's like a clusterfuck of genre mediocrity.

]]>
<![CDATA[Sharpless commented on Teal'c Spills His Stargate Knowledge, Trashes The Trek]]> Where is he trashing Star Trek? He doesn't. Stop misrepresenting the content just so you'll get more hits, guys. This is getting depressingly common on blogs. Oy.

And the first eight seasons of SG-1 were great, but nine and ten sucked horribly.

]]>
<![CDATA[Sharpless commented on Which Summer Movie Chick Could Carry Her Own Spinoff?]]> How about none of them? Spin-offs are a pain in the neck.

]]>
<![CDATA[Sharpless commented on The Yip Yips From Mars Will Haunt Your Nightmares]]> Geez, really? There's nothing creepy or traumatizing about them. Man, people are sensitive these days. :P

]]>
<![CDATA[Sharpless commented on Best Desktop Media Player?]]> VOTE: iTunes

It's a bit of a resource hog, but I prefer its interface over WMP and Winamp. Winamp is dull (even when skinned), and WMP is... well, it's Windows Media Player. So, iTunes it is!

]]>
<![CDATA[Sharpless commented on Transfer Your Firefox 2 Passwords into Firefox 3]]> I had no problems either.

]]>
<![CDATA[Sharpless commented on Why Is Optimus Prime Getting Religion?]]> How does that spoiler equal Optimus Prime "getting religion"? And incidentally, the Transformers have always had their own sorts of quasi-religions. Would you believe, there's even a little "creationism"/evolution parallel in there, too? Yeah, I'm hopeless. :)
