Bonus - the kicker for the other football team is Pittsburgh's mayor.
Nerd alert- that's actual Sebastian Shaw at the end of RotJ.
Not use familiar villians? Not use familiar sidekicks? Yeah, this looks DOA.

Seriously, GUNS? I guess none of the showrunners have figured out why Bats doesn't use guns. Can't believe he'd be cool with ALFRED of all people packing heat.
So please tell me that Bane sings the Star Spangled Banner in TKDR
Ok, I have to rant about the mindwipe. What a missed opportunity! I don't agree with Alasdair's assessment that this was a smart thing to do to recap for viewers- I don't know about you, but I just sat through a minute of recap before the ep started properly, that already recaps the family's set of powers.

Now, I wasn't expecting it to be a permanent mindwipe, but let it last 3 eps or something at least? It would have given the family some incentive to discover why she was wiped (and JJ to try to work his superbrain) and allow new viewers to have an entry point to this half of the season.

And if you ARE going to resolve it in one episode, does it have to be done before the opening credits??? At least wait till the end of the ep.

And the big question... does she remember everything? Oh wait, I guess that don't matter since Katie knows now. Lame.

Now, onto her political storyline, I loved the idea of it but not the execution. This should have stretched over a few eps as well. New girl suggests she run for office, a few days before the election, and Daphne makes this decision like that? The guest star neighbor, more realistically, could have planted the seed and then as Daphne gets her memories back (following the 3 ep plan) she could start using her mind reading to be everything to everyone.
@Thogar: I was ok with that since it was foreshadowed. He's shown signs of having genuine feelings for Katie before tonight, so it wasn't as big of a leap. Of course, i might have just been fuming at the mind wipe.
@akacrash: She was Jack Bauer's GF in the last two seasons of 24 as well. She didn't end up too well there either, but was just as hot.
I enjoyed this episode but I feel like they missed a good opportunity with the math teacher subplot. I was really excited that he didn't die, since I was afraid the show would kill off anyone who was an inconvenient to the Powells. But the amnesia is a cop out.

They should have let the teacher retain his memories and start to suspect that JJ had something to do with his recovery. This would lead to him discovering his powers, and eventually forgiving him for his weird behavior/cheating, maybe even becoming a mentor of sorts.

honestly, the show just need a "suspension of disbelief" consultant to tell them when they take things so far.
@Andy Neil:
1. Volson's widow

In retrospect, I felt that once Stephanie started messing around w/ Volson's research Rev Camden would contact her and tell her to start acting. But def. a little plot holey.

2. JJ

Yeah, he's a bad character. Much better now that he doesn't play football. But still they seem to say that he has all this brain power but still does dumb things. It would be nice of him to be consistently smart, but I guess it kinda makes sense given his age.

3. bluff

I felt this was poorly handled, agree. Like the bad guy could have wanted to go to the press or something who likely would find out that crushed bullets were found at the scene etc. It should have played out over an ep or two, it just felt rushed.
@Alasdair Wilkins: I assumed that he observed her being stood up in light of his directive to check into the Powells, ran to a street vendor, and got the flowers. We know he has TK, but maybe he can read minds too which would make playing along very easy.
@WookieLifeDay: Alan Moore had a great comic where Abin met some bad guys who prophecied that at a crucial moment his ring would fail him. So Abin starts relying more and more on technology and becomes paranoid since these baddies can't lie. At some point he flies through a band of yellow radiation that shuts off his ship and his ring... and as he crashes he realizes if he more faith in his ring he would follow standard lantern practice of testing for yellow
@Cantatus: @Cantatus: I would enjoy a nerd-tastic episode that show us Katie's home and all of her comic book kitsch.
@bowen13: Totally with you. I guess they ran out of money to do alternate shots. Or they were just dumb.
I liked the ending with the broken down car. To me that was the first familiar use of powers that didn't seem forced.
@omgwtflolbbqbye: YES YES a million times yes. My first thought
uck. Uck. UCK!
Really, that's the best you can do for a title? Let's make it sound like the second title so that grandmother's the world over can mess up Christmas 2012 and buy their grandkids a copy of the second movie instead of the new one. "I got such a good deal!"
@DARSFOG: The whole JJ not telling plot is wearing very thin, agreed.
@Szin: It seems like they are trying to say that he solves things in hypertime but they have to show it in real time. But they really should tell that to us
@FREAKHEAD: agree, this payoff came way too son. I could suspend my disbelief IF he impressed the coach this week and then spent more time building up some passing skills to at least make the pass somewhat believable.
