I haven't watch it in ages and of course the scene isn't on Youtube, but I remember loving the 'Inama Mushif' birth montage that ended part I (aka Dune Messiah) of the Sci-Fi Channel's Children of Dune. Of course, that might just be my love for Brian Tyler's soundtrack speaking.
I have no idea, really. I'm a long-time fan of the Star Wars EU... Long enough that I'd recommend caution to a newcomer. (It's a slimy mudhole, but it's MY slimy mudhole.) That experience has made me pretty cautious about trying anything else.
Good luck finding The Complete Vader: The book had printing issues and has been pushed back to 2011, though a few people who preordered received copies.
@Demonbird: Everyone I know who went to the first one says it was miserably cold, unorganized and muddy. I was at both the third and fourth and had a blast. (L.A. might have felt emptier because of the size of the convention center, which is almost ridiculously huge.)
My father's car has heated seats, and he gets a huge kick out of 'accidently' turning the passenger one on, knowing that I hate it. We live in Michigan and I used to work nights, so I'm very familiar with the weather at 2am in February. I'll still pass. #cartech
Interesting review: This makes me really want to go see it. Pedantic note: The term 'Jedi' is a singular plural. #menwhostareatgoats
Well, in all fairness to the Trek stoners, they are stoned.
The Matrix sequels were awful and they got worse as time went on, whereas the Star Wars prequels actually got better... Well, okay, Revenge of the Sith was better.

I have yet to be able to watch the entirety of the third Matrix film in one sitting. I can't say that for any of the SW prequels.

@Charlie Jane Anders: Heh. I'm neither a slasher or a big PT fan, but I am in the fandom, and it's hard to miss from there! But I can see how from the outside it might not be obvious. (Particularly considering how the biggest SW fanfic community - TheForce.Net boards - doesn't really allow slash at all. Or at least not with movie characters.)
I'd hesitate to call Obi-Wan 'unsung' when you'd be hard-pressed to find a prequel-era slash fic without him. He's practically the fandom bicycle.
I stopped reading his site about a week after he began writing on the pictures and I can't say I've ever regretted it.
@adverbly: I would actually watch this wretched show if they came up with an Ethel Merman Sith Lord.
@TheHacker: Yeah, someone misread. Luke's son is Ben. His nephew Anakin is dead at this point of time.
Ironically, I subbed to Domino because I was reading the design blogs - they courted them pretty heavily for the launch so everyone was talking about, I picked it up and ending up getting a pretty good discount on a subscription... I always enjoyed it.

I guess I should be thankful that the subscription renewal is still sitting in my to-do pile.

@Pickens: He totally missed the boat on WHY the Lexicon was a bad thing, though. The Ender's bit was just the icing that completely ruined the cake.

@leeflower: I'm just thankful they've shuffled her off into the Mando/trooper corner of the sandbox at this point. I don't really enjoy being anyone's captive audience. :P

If an author is obnoxious about anything - even if it doesn't bleed into their books - I might keep reading, but I won't keep buying. There's one author whose stuff I started getting from the library after she went internet batshit on something I care about.

On the other hand, I've never read anything by OSC, and I'm certainly not gonna start after hearing about his politics. Of course, his little hissyfit not too long ago about J.K. Rowling ripping off Ender's Game would have had the same effect.

Another white Doctor is one thing, but one with emo hair? THAT CANNOT STAND.
Check the profile page - YouGneek is a her.
Star Wars may very well be ridiculous (okay, it totally is) but I'm pretty sure that Adam Sandler movies ceased to be culturally relevant at least ten years ago. And that might just be my shameful warm-and-fuzzies for 'The Wedding Singer' speaking.
