<![CDATA[Spakkenkhrist commented on Flying Saucer Power Source Discovered: Ionized Air]]> @beelzebuddha: I think I read an article on Discovery about this form of propulsion and that when it was first discovered the scientist/s thought they had discovered an anti-gravity technology until they tried it in a vacuum and nothing happened.

<![CDATA[Spakkenkhrist commented on First Images From Cloverfield 2?]]> @HomoSapiensRex:
I'm glad I'm not the only one who has seen this amazing piece of cinematography. If I remember correctly, the hero (Dan from the UK soap Eastenders) shouts "you're just a big fish with a smack habit", timeless.

<![CDATA[Spakkenkhrist commented on Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Joss Whedon's Dollhouse]]> Eliza now looks like a cracked-out shadow of her former self, and where did her nose (and figure, more importantly) go? Apologies for lack of sci-fi content in this post.

<![CDATA[Spakkenkhrist commented on The Tomorrow War Looks Good Today]]> Nobody has mentioned Frontier, this makes me sad.

<![CDATA[Spakkenkhrist commented on Dragons vs. Helicopters - Who Wins?]]> This looks like possibly the best film ever, well until we see vampires and werewolves riding raptors into battle against Martian war machines anyway.

<![CDATA[Spakkenkhrist commented on Own Your Own Thing From 'The Thing']]> @cde: I like the first two but the third one was a bit weak; that's not to say I won't watch it again as I love bad scifi/horror :)

<![CDATA[Spakkenkhrist commented on The Seven and a Half Rules for Making Scary Aliens]]> I thought the bugs in Mimic where a really good concept (using their wing casings to mimic human appearance) but not unearthly enough to be scary.

<![CDATA[Spakkenkhrist commented on Detailed Military Specs On How To Stop A Rampaging Monster In Your Town]]> Bunker busters would be a good start and a the nose cannon on the A-10 could do some pretty serious damage.

<![CDATA[Spakkenkhrist commented on Robotics Expert Daniel Wilson Says Earth is Unprepared for Alien Invasion]]> @Jeff-Minor: In the novel Footfall the invaders have inherited their tech and spent lifetimes in transit to Earth so it's feasible alien tech wouldn't be that hugely advanced; it also makes for a good story :)

<![CDATA[Spakkenkhrist commented on TV This Week: High School Superheroes And Time-Travel Drama]]> I'm from the UK and I would just like to say that I am thoroughly, thouroughly ashamed of (and sorry about) Dr. Who and especially Torchwood.

]]>
<![CDATA[Spakkenkhrist commented on io9's Official Spoiler Policy]]> Please note that in the UK Cloverfield has yet to be released (why?) so I am desperately trying to avoid seeing images of the monster.

<![CDATA[Spakkenkhrist commented on Geek to Live: Top Windows tweaks]]> Other keyboard shortcuts worth knowing are Ctrl&F4 to shut down a sub-window of an app (not to be confused with Alt&F4 which will close down the main app window), F6 to move to URL/folder inputs, Win&Pause to open the System Properties window, and Ctrl, Shift & Esc to open Task Manager.

I've recently added my most visited folders to my Favourites menu (can't believe it hadn't occured to me before) and was wondering if anyone was aware of a reg fix to cause explorer windows to start with the Favourites pane open?
