Err... maybe I misread that but "...or who spend less than 85% of their time in bed asleep" means that out of a 24 hour day unless we sleep 20.4 hours (85% of 24) we're fooked?

Lol.

It's not even a recent occurrence from what I'm finding. It's been dredged back up once again to remind people of the evils of trying e-cigs.

The original false claims made by the FDA using non-scientific methods to test brands of e-liquid did a TON of harm to the industry. They basically abused their power by simply using their name and stating things like "there's antifreeze in e-liquid", or that they found carcinogens OMG. People equate the name 'FDA' with safety.. which is quite the opposite in most cases. Think about it.. the FDA allows cigarettes to be sold and consumed freely. Yet e-cigs are so horrible we must ban them?

They simply refuse to remind people that yes, although e-liquid has nicotine in it (if you want it in there, you can get it or make it without nicotine), it has maybe 4-10 ingredients opposed to 4000-5000 you get in cigarette smoke. I make my own every week, it's made up of propylene glycol, vegetable glycerin, a small amount of nicotine (16mg/ml), and standard food grade candy flavoring (of my choosing). That's it. Nothing more. All of the ingredients are USP grade, GRAS (generally recognized as safe) by the FDA (same people bashing the product), and still the FDA hates e-cigs? Why? Because taxing it is difficult if not impossible. It's all about money folks.. nothing more. They make money off your misery when you get addicted to cigarettes, they do not make money (not much anyway beyond normal non-tobacco sales tax in local sales) off e-cigarettes.

Any of you who smoke should do yourself a favor and research and try e-cigs. They may just save your life. At the very least, try the products and learn as much as possible before greed from our own government manages to outlaw them so that you know how to make the ingredients yourself.

I stopped using torrents long ago, too easy to be tracked in the swarm. I use SSL connections and private servers exclusively these days. So a lot of 'manual' searching is required. I also subscribe to both Hulu and Netflix which get me close to being able to find everything, albeit after the air date (sometimes LONG after in Netflix's case). Then there's various network online services like ABC, NBC, CBS, etc. that will show you their content 1 day to 1 week after it airs, and then there's iTunes for other shows that I want to pay for (and am happy to do so if they ALL were available and priced a little more competitive).

I also refuse to be bully'd into upping a subscription package on cable or satellite just to watch one series when my provider changes my package without consenting me. So I simply turn to the net. It's all out there, you just have to know where to look. If it were just me, I'd have switched off the satellite subscription, but with a family always wanting new shows I'd spend all my time manually finding content.

If you dig around enough you'll find he was using a high voltage 'mod' (custom or modified e-cigarette power source) with stacked lithium ion unprotected batteries. Unprotected Lithium Ion = bad. Stacking Unprotected Lithium Ion batteries to get a higher (6v or 7.4v) voltage = worse. I've been using ECigs for two years myself, even built the damn things to my own specifications and I _never_ use unprotected, cheap, or under-rated batteries. Don't want a pipe bomb going off in our hands/face now do we?

Isolated incident likely due to user error or ignorance about battery safety. Wonder how many people died in house fires in the last year alone due to cigarettes.. I'd wager a LOT more than 1.

As a die-hard nerd who hates sports (unless it's women's volleyball hah!) No Sports would be a bonus for me.
I am close to that myself. If I could find a centralized way of finding all my shows I'd have done it by now.
I'll take an nVidia card over an ATI any day of the week. I'll even pay double if I have to. I've been working on PC's for upwards of 20 years, and have had much more success with nVidia over ATI when it comes to problems, drivers, etc. I'm sure the ATI lovers will flame me for it, but it's just the way I feel.
Purchased mine before Xmas as well. Still love the thing though. Will probably keep it and get a new one by the end of the year.
Agreed. Copy down the DNS info today (IP's associated with your domains) and if you have to modify your hosts file to keep yourself able to access the site. SSH or FTP all of your data (better get started!). The sucky thing is that you'll loose your name, but you can also backorder it through the registrar and if it doesn't get renewed it's yours. Costly but works.
Agreed. I enjoyed it. ;) Not going to rush out and buy a copy any time soon but still.

I've pretty much given up on my country's will to explore space. The private sector however is looking promising. By the time NASA/ESA gets around to going to Mars (sometime in the next 50 years we hope) private companies should be there with hotels and resorts just in case they get in trouble on the way and need a place to stay lol.
1000kb/sec is all I can get in my local area on downstream and upstream is 1/10th of that. The local cable company is promising up to 1500kb/sec but honestly it's not enough of a boost to justify switching to a service that I know will be slower than I am getting now during prime time. I agree. The Internet is too fucking slow for today's media.
Didn't seem all that big of a deal to me. The pilot giving the instructions was a family member, and a retired vet with an entire career of experience in way more than a single engine Cessna. I was 18 at the time and was on my 8th or 9th hour of instruction, and never questioned my safety for a minute. Wish I had kept up on the lessons; instead I spent my money on a sport bike back then lol. Of course.. that was fun too.
And here's hoping not only that it works but that this isn't the last we hear of it like so many other astounding miracle cures we've read about in the past...
As of today there's been no word from the scientists for 5 days..

Either they are popsicles or were a Cthulhu snack.

...and tartar or seafood sauce? Boil and dip that honker!
"...won't happen for at least five years because it's just too expensive to make with current technology"

Horse. Shit. Tired of hearing things like this from producers that are just afraid to commit to a project.
