Opening weekend at Waterford Hills: Sunday was sunny and cool. Perfect weather for horsepower and fun. SundaySunday's Sunday was already booked however, so I only got to work Saturday's races.

Saturday by comparison was cool, cloudy and intermittent rain. In fact one good deluge came during the Improved Touring classes. All in all, the drivers race pretty cleanly and there were a minimum of incidents at the track and none in my station.

But an incident-free day at the races is still a day at the races, and loads of fun. Thanks for letting me share.

Not sure how this message thing works. Hopefully, it just shows in my page and doesn't junk up your profile pages. If this is an annoyance, let me know and I'll won't post these things. Just wanted to share:

Drivers School at Waterford Hills was great. My mission this year is to learn the SCCA hand signals for responding to incidents.

There were 3 incidents in my corner on Saturday: an RX-7 stripped its gearing and came to a rest cross-track. After a couple attempts to continue, the Mazda would finally require a flat tow back to the pits.

The other two incidents were a Formula Vee taking a "wide line" through the corner, stalling, then refiring. All in all, a great day to kick off the season.

I have a ride to the theater from Livonia- one of the KU alums. And Schweppes said he can still take me back home, so I'll just join him, and that way you don't have to worry about going out of your way.
I really appreciate it though!
See you there.

I talked w/ Schweppes about it- he's coming from Windsor. I'll probably actually be up in Livonia to watch the KU game with the alumni group, so I can just take a cab or my previous ride to the theater, but then I'd need a ride home. I live downtown in between Wayne State and Detroit Medical Ctr., fyi (wouldn't want you to drive out of your way)
