I'd like to nominate Joe Cornish. Attack the Block was easily one of my favorite sci-fi films of the year, and a great first effort from an up-and-coming writer/director.
Very well said. I mean, its seems kind of obvious if you say it out loud. "An F" sounds a lot more natural than saying "a F". Also, I feel like the comment that started all this seems overly aggressive. It may not be the original storyline, but it was the original anime series, which is what arcticfox may have meant.
Yeah, I always thought I would be a Ravenclaw, but got put in Hufflepuff instead. And even though you're surely a serpent-tongued ne'er-do-well, I'm glad we can agree that McGonagall's backstory was heart-breaking.
Its not wimping out at all. Quite the opposite, in fact. He wants to make an epic Lovecraft film, and refuses to compromise his vision for the corporations. If anyone is wimping out, its the folks at Universal who refused to give him his chance.
I absolutely agree. I met him for all of 30 seconds at SDCC this year, and it was easily one of my favorite parts of the con. He was one of the nicest, warmest people I've met at any con, and he was genuinely appreciative of his fans. Also, he showed me his Miskatonic University class, and I totally geeked out over it.
I'd agree with that. The atmosphere in that absolutely packed panel was positively electric, and although I'm terrible about gauging hype, I have to believe that people were talking about it throughout the con.
For everyone who enjoys this writer's art and sense of humor, she's done some amazing Metal Gear Solid and Persona 4 comics on her livejournal. Here's that site: [hiimdaisy.livejournal.com]
And here's a link to the start of her MGS 3 comic: [s31.photobucket.com] (click next to continue it)
@Gaucho85: That's official art, my friend. Not sure from what issue, I'm afraid, but that once graced the front of a Batman comic. The artist actually did some excellent issues of Sandman though.
It seems to me the bear fight would work better in a "Winter's Tale" themed mission, since that's the play with "exit, pursued by a bear" as an actual stage direction.
@SteveTW: I'm afraid you are mistaken, sir. Gary is 21, 24 was the one that got blown up. But I too hope that Gary joins the good guys. He'd fit in excellently with the folks at SPHINX.
