I thought the three that made it through were the three from the flyguy's spaceship, which made it there before the rest of the swarm. The three didn't catch up to the bus because it took them a minute to eat all of the flyguys ship. But they were still ahead of the swarm.
I believe the Tick could only speak high school French in that episode. Which was pretty funny. #supervillains

Also, all those children will not really die, but rather we think they will die. Michael or Lauren will fake their death, sell them to a family in Ohio and they will return in 20 years time for the next Melrose incarnation.
I liked Firestar's microwave emissions giving her cancer. (Iron Man invented her a suit to protect her, I don't believe it really works though).

@contradicto: I think this is right, Madonna has longevity and MJ was more like a spike for that decade, but MJ had the raw talent while Madonna had the marketing/business sense.
I think Beyonce comes closest for the next generation. And she deserves, she is very talented, and I think her business/marketing skills are probably on the sufficient side of things.
