Exactly. If we add additional ones for electronics coming out of China they will do the same to us. What China has already done is proof of that outcome.
He's not saying that the stuff talked about in this story is an issue with Android, but rather that its a non-issue because Google owns Android and therefore doesn't need to use any exploits or such to track people's information. They can just throw whatever tracking measures they want straight into Android itself.
Disabling the service is not proof one way or the other that they were tracking people. If you're in a tense situation with a cop and he notices a gun on your person and he tells you to drop it are you going to drop it or stand there ignoring him and further irritating him? You drop the damn gun until things cool down. Doesn't matter if you're guilty of anything or not you simply do it to ensure that the situation doesn't escalate.

For all we know Google may have simply disabled the feature to ensure everyone that while its unknown whether or not any tracking was going on there most definitely isn't any tracking going on now. Right now all this is is fear mongering about how Google could be tracking you without your permission, and until they have proof that Google was actually maliciously tracking people without their permission (implied, or otherwise) that is all it will be.

If you're an Apple fanboy then Giz isn't doing enough to promote the cult of Jobs, but if you're not an Apple fanboy then Giz is nothing but a bunch of Apple loving fanboys.

I think everyone just needs to shut the hell up, realize this is a BLOG whose writers express their opinions, and quit bitching about how the free content provided by this blog isn't biased the way they feel it should be.

You really think China would be okay with that? If we put tariffs and taxes on goods coming out of China guess what they do? They put tariffs and taxes on any goods coming from the US. If fixing he made in China issue were as simple as tariffs and taxes then it would have been solved a long time ago.
Wow, really Apple? You're already ridiculously overcharging your customers for your products, and then you're going to go and make it so that they can't use the new version of your operating system just because you're too lazy/greedy to bother to properly support their graphics chipset? I think at this point Apple is just trying to ensure that I'll never purchase one of their computers, and that I'll never recommend that anyone else do so either. Anything anyone wants to do on an Apple computer can be done just as well if not better on a Linux box, and for a hell of a lot cheaper.
Mead is one of the things I look forward to most during the fall when I go to the Renaissance Festival. A cup or two of warm mead in the morning, and a few more cups of cool mead in the afternoon/evening. Absolutely delicious. I may very well have to take a whack at this...
So the way news should work is that one person knows about something, so no one else should be told because it's already old news now that one person knows it? Nope, sorry buddy but there were plenty of people who were interested in this article because they had NOT seen this before, and wanted to know more. If you want news exclusively tailored to you its really very easy to do, hire your own team of writers, editors, and interns and have them scour the internet for new things to tell you and only you!
Most people like me hate them because of companies like OCZ who habitually deny them automatically for some bullshit reason, and then force you to dispute the denial to actual get your rebate. That and the fact that they take forever to get back from most places.
I spent three days of my Canada camping trip this last summer simply laying in my hammock reading. It was awesome.
Another big one for me is when my laptop is saying it needs to install updates. This usually occurs when I'm needing to go to my next class, get out of my current room in a hurry, or when I'm going to need my laptop up and running ASAP when I get to my next class. Although I typically just use hibernate to accomplish this same thing.
Wow, fanboy much? As far as I've heard there haven't been any real issues with the Xbox 360 Slims, and the model or two of the old style 360 haven't been too bad off either. In fact the Arcade unit I was given through my extended warranty when my Elite died has been running fine for nearly three years. That's not bad considering I was going through the old models at about one a year.

I can't sit here and let you praise Sony for their handling of their security situation because quite simply it should never have happened to begin with. It doesn't matter that they admitted it (eventually), it doesn't matter that they tried to make up for it, if they hadn't been negligent in their handling of their user's data it would never have happened. You also can't say that Microsoft would never do something when they've never had the chance to show whether they would or not. When was the last time that Microsoft had a massive security breach involving millions of users? They haven't, and that means you have no idea what they would do in such a situation.

As for the exclusive's situation, there are just as many exclusives coming out on the 360 this year as there are on the PS3. Of course there's Halo 4, but there are also numerous Kinect games like Fable: The Journey, Kinect Star Wars, and a few more. Then there are the PC/360 only exclusives like The Witcher 2 and Minecraft that the PS3 won't see.

Basically the belief that one system is way better/worse than the other is completely wrong. The correct way to think about it is that they all suck, and that some just suck a little bit more or less than the others.

One of the most amazing chocolate cakes I've ever had used ricotta cheese. It literally stayed just as moist and fresh tasting as it was the day it was baked for a week. Of course the downside was that the cheese caused it to be a slightly "heavier" cake almost on the verge of being considered a really light and fluffy brownie, but that's perfectly okay with me because I love brownies too!
Seems like there's been a lot of work done on this, so I guess I better start reading up. From the little bit I read I should definitely be getting a way better framerate than I am!

i5 2500K
CrossfireX 5870s
160GB OCZ Vertex2 SSD
8GB DDR3-1600 Corsair Vengeance RAM
1920x1200 resolution

On ultra settings I get about 26fps outdoors.

I may have to give this a shot to try to get a playable framerate out of my CrossfireX 5870s while playing Skyrim on Ultra settings as I only get about 20-30 as is. I imagine that overclocking is just about as effective on CrossfireX setups as on single cards correct?
The real question is what kind of mexican food? If it makes everything look like Taco Bell then no thanks, but if it makes everything look like real mexican food... awesome.
My guess is that the battery life hit won't be felt as bad on the iPad, so they're more willing to do it. Isn't that why they claimed they didn't put 3G in the first iPhone back in the day?
The Transformer Prime deal has either already sold out or has been removed. When the link is clicked on both the deal site that is linked to as well as the actual HHGreg website it goes to a page not found message. Which is damned unfortunate because I've been looking for one everyone online, and no one seems to have them at even MSRP.
When I ran the Windows 8 developer preview off of my SSD on my old Core 2 Duo E8400 with 4GB of DDR2 1066 RAM the boot time was right around 8 seconds after POST. Currently my boot time with Windows 7 on my upgraded rig (i5 2500K, 8GB DDR3 1600) is right around 30 seconds.

I imagine the beta may prove to be even faster since they'll have had more time to fine tune it.

I believe from earlier stories I read that they've changed the lenses to work much closer to the system. I think it was something like as close as 6 inches?
