Houston not getting a shuttle is bullocks. Houston is the Space City. Houston Rockets, Houston Astros, Astrodome & what were the first words spoken on the moon or when shit hit the fan? All astronauts trained here, lived here & all astronauts that lost their lives called Houston their home.

DC & NYC getting one? How far apart are they? I understand one going to the East coast & one going to the West coast, but why would they ignore Houston? Oh wait... Texas is republican, current administration isn't. Always gotta be the politics...
I was on the fence about buying one of these devices, but after this incident... I will NOT buy one.

This 'apology' doesn't change anything. He doesn't say it will never happen again.

Removing the ability to remotely burn your digital book collection would be a big step forward in my eyes.

@ConroyCotta: You can pick up beer & wine at the grocery stores here in Texas.
@Andrew Liptak: The fact that we simply possess such technology is most of the time enough deterrent to others for us to not end up actually using it.

Look at the "diplomatic effect" that can be made by simply parking an aircraft carrier group in the area.

You are correct in that the current stage of the current conflicts don't need the F-22, but what about the next conflict?

Right now nobody can really compete with us in technology because of the money we spent in the past. If you want to stay on top of the technology pyramid, you cannot stop research/upgrades.

This budget is a major shift in thinking at the pentagon. Our military has been focused on preparing itself to fight a conventional war since WW2. This budget refocuses the military to prepare more for an asymmetric war.

It sucks to see projects like the F-22 are getting virtually eliminated. On the other hand, urban warfare focuses on the soldier more & we might start seeing more soldier centric advances in the coming years/decades.

Looks like my browser ate my comment...
I agree with knippschild.

You need to make sure you machine is clean asap. From another computer you also might want to check to see if any other of your accounts have been compromised.

I always had good service with wamu.
I wonder if I will still be able to see my current FICO score for free just for having a wamu credit card...
I live in Southeast Houston.
The local walmarts took a few days to open fully, but when they did, they were giving away bottled water. Three cases per family. I haven't heard of jacked up prices, but I haven't really looked...
The DRM it comes with sounds like malware.

Rumor is that the game was cracked & up for download on release. The people that download a cracked version are using a version that isn't loaded down malware, while the people who paid money & bought it legit have to deal with third party malware on their system.

10 years ago, you were hesitant to download pirated software because there was a good chance it was loaded with viruses/malware. Getting a clean copy of the software was a big incentive to buy a legit copy from the store.

I don't have the answer to the pirate question, but something is very wrong when the cracked copy has become the only way to get a 'clean' copy of software.

Am I reading this right?
-Fox enters into agreement that they own distribution rights for Watchmen with Gordon Productions.
-Fox gives Gordon Productions the option to buyout their (Fox) distribution rights.
-Gordon Productions sells Watchmen rights (including distribution rights) to Warner.
-Fox claims they tried to contact Warner about the situation during preproduction but were rebuffed.
-Warner makes movie.
-Fox sues Warner saying 'Gordon Productions didn't own distribution rights, because they never used the buyout option.'
-Warner says 'uhhhhhhhhhhhhh'.
Steam is an acceptable compromise for me. I sometimes install no-cd cracks on games I buy because I hate having to pop the cd into the drive every time I want to play.
The security for implementing/activating an airplane killswitch would have to be extraordinary. Due to the way the airline industry is setup, I don't think this is possible.
Unacceptable for many reasons.
From script kiddies being able to hammer your line knowing that you will be forced to pay big $ for their stupidity to the absurdly low cap.

It seems that TWC is surprised that people do more than just check their email & 'logoff'. I am now researching alternative ISPs. Luckily I have options in my area.

As been stated, unless the film is digital, it cannot be rewound without a ton of effort.

The number of projectionists vary from theatre chain to theatre chain. Some will have a projectionist to run the entire megaplex, others won't have any on duty during parts of the day.

With the amount of automation now, its easy for a single projectionist to run (aka thread/start) a megaplex (10+ screens) by themselves. On Thursday nights a small team of projectionists will be need for the assembly & disassembly of the films for the coming week.

Catastrophic stoppage of a film is rare. Much more common is playing the film out of focus, dirty, or having to play a 'scratched' film due to mishandling by the projectionist.

Its not stopping piracy of the game & its angering potential legitimate buyers. Its a lose/lose situation.
Whole lotta confusion going on in this section.
-'Bad Company' is a console only game. No PC version will be made according to EA. It will NOT be free.
-'Battlefield Heroes' is another game by EA that is being made for the PC. It will be free to play, but will probably have the standard 'free to play, but if you want access to upgrades, you have to pay'.
-A video was released by a blogger that shows the stats on all the upgraded weapons in 'Bad Company'. Some of the upgraded weapons were worse, some were slightly better, but none were super overpowered. Most just had slight changes. They can of course change the stats at anytime.
-Battlefield 2142 & Battlefield 2 have unlocks that anyone can acquire for free by earning xp. BUT you do have to buy the expansion pack(s) to have the ability to 'earn' some of the weapons.

What probably happened?
--An employee opened the box & replaced it with a busted one. Resealed the box to make it seem like it was never open.
--A customer bought a PS3. Took it home, placed his busted PS3 in the box, resealed it to make it seem like it was never opened. Returned it to best buy.

Probably no big conspiracy here.
