I want one. Is that wrong?
If you're into virals/ARGs, Unfiction is a good place to keep up with the latest stuff.

Here's the thread on their forums about this: [forums.unfiction.com] #observationdeck

These are pretty great. I do not need any more jerseys in my wardrobe though. Of course, I keep saying I don't need more t-shirts too and that never seems to stop me.

Maybe if there were Farscape ones. Or Tron.

Funny, the NHL one I'm wearing right now says "official licensed jersey" right on the tag.
I just don't get it. What's the point of baiting your readership like that? Why?

Please, io9, don't follow in their ridiculous footsteps. #observationdeck

I was expecting Melisandre to be redder. I was envisioning REALLY red. Might just be the color palette they're using though, which seems somewhat muted overall.

Really happy with Brienne.
Balon doesn't look how I pictured him but I think it works.
Not 100% sold on Stannis and Davos but I'm sure it will be fine.

Craig Engler (@syfy) on Twitter retweeted this earlier. [twitter.com]

Actual substantive link is here: [www.variety.com]

Syfy's developing a spec pilot "about a clandestine organization, known only as "Corporate," that solves dangerous mysteries caused by science and technology gone awry, topped by an enigmatic leader who operates with a strong moral code and "a very big gun.""

The description immediately made me think of The Middleman, but that's in no way a bad thing. Could be interesting if it happens.

Suddenly I find myself regretting my semi-annual dental appointment scheduled for next week.

That's just freaky. #observationdeck

Would it be possible to attempt to fend off the inevitable "OMG, IT'S JUST LIKE BATTLE ROYALE!!1!!" comments by adding a disclaimer to the end of every Hunger Games post from now on?

Something along the lines of "Before you comment, please bear in mind that the author of this piece as well as the majority of the readers are aware of the similarities between The Hunger Games and Battle Royale. Similarities, by the way, that do not mean the two properties are in any way identical. Thanks, and may the odds be ever in your favor."

That being said, woohoo trailer! I'm excited.

There's always the possibility it could be good, I guess. But this just feels so unnecessary.
Brand-new Game of Thrones season 2 trailer is out!

'Scuse me, I'll be over here filled with fannish glee and watching this obsessively a few times.

That's pretty much how I feel.
I was intrigued by the premise when I saw a tiny blurb somewhere. Now I'm thinking it sounds really unpleasant and awful. So I'm glad I read this and not the book.
The thing that bugs me about that is if Marcus hadn't been being an IDIOT, he and Ivanova would have both been fine. He didn't have to die for her to live. He had to give her enough so SHE was no longer dying. Which would have been workable if he'd let somebody in on his plan.

Marcus, killed by terminal stupidity. Such a terrible way to go for someone so awesome.

Mary Margaret gave the book to Henry.
My first thought when Scruffy New Guy showed off his typewriter was "he's Stephen King!" (Maine, writer, motorcycle, it just called out to me) And I've decided to keep referring to him as such. Possibly forever, even if he gets a real name soon.

Also, I loved Stealthy and his death. It was awesome.

I feel so bad for James's wife. Unless she's evil and working with the queen/mayor. I thought that was where they were going with her at first but now it's been a long time to draw that out so I kind of hope she isn't. In any case, I feel bad for her.

Just bought plane tickets to San Diego for SDCC.

I don't have a badge yet, due to last year's dumb pre-registration setup. Hopefully my usual source will come through with the guest badge from his pro badge or if that fails the badge purchasing system will actually work this year. Fingers crossed, I guess.

It's been a while since I read these, 10 years or so I think, but I remember really liking them. Though if I'm not confusing this series with something else it kind of fell apart towards the end. I don't remember the last book being nearly as good as the others.

Should be interesting to see at least if they do end up getting made.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
At one point, all the grandparents are seen in bed together.

Did you throw that in just to see if we were paying attention? It cracked me up.

And the rest...sigh, I suppose there is always more room in the TBR pile, isn't there?

I was really disappointed when this didn't go anywhere the first time around. I hope it actually gets picked up as a series this time.

I still wonder what, exactly, Rockne is saying about Farscape fans with this though...

He wrote 8 episodes, actually. Well, 2 of them were co-written with Kemper.
