<![CDATA[Zenn-Lavian commented on Nazi Werewolf Gals Spread The Pure Blood Word Through Comic]]> All these trailers (including Machete) need to become feature films, dammit!

Eli Roth may be a douche but I gotta give it up to him here: Thanksgiving looks like a great, absurdly entertaining 80s Slasher film.

<![CDATA[Zenn-Lavian commented on Punk'd! Charlie Jade Moves To Graveyard Shift]]> Geez, Sci Fi, give the show at least a puncher's chance.

Well, like a lot of you, I've been DVR-ing it since the second episode but still haven't been able to watch the first one (I missed it) since it aired a few weeks back.

Of course Sci Fi Channel doesn't rerun the show at all so I was wondering if anyone knows where I can see/download the first episode. I've already checked Limewire and Bittorrent but nothing doing.

PLEASE HELP!

<![CDATA[Zenn-Lavian commented on Captain America Still Part Of The Greatest Generation]]> @TommySez: Yeah, I love Cap just as much as the next Marvel guy, but Ultimate Cap did come off as an asshole for some reason.

I can't pinpoint why exactly, but I just didn't like Mark Millar's rendition of Cap in the Ultimates. Like with the whole Cap/Wasp/Hank love triangle; I ended up feeling sorry for Hank once Wasp hooked up with Cap.

Damn, does that mean I subconsciously condone violence against women??

<![CDATA[Zenn-Lavian commented on Trapped In A Shape-Shifting Prison Full Of Supervillains]]> Yeah, I also thought this was languishing in development Hell and was never gonna get put on the fast track. I, too, am a Marvel guy and only care about DC as it pertains to Batman, but this idea just seemed really cool to me. I've come to like Ollie, mostly through his interaction with Batman in the comics.

But I'm not sold on Damon as Green Arrow. I almost wanna say they should cast someone in their early 40s as Ollie. You know, someone who can nail that surly ass-kicker persona he's always had in the comics. Maybe Dennis Quaid? Or how about Daniel Craig? I'd say Bruce Willis but he'd come off as too, I don't know, quippy?

<![CDATA[Zenn-Lavian commented on Which Summer Comic Event Comes Out On Top?]]> Well, I'm one of those guys who only reads Batman and anything that relates to his world (Robin, Nightwing, etc.), so anything outside of that I could care less about. Sorry, but I grew up a Marvel guy, and I've always felt Marvel's second tier characters were just cooler than DC's.

Which is why this whole "Countdown" stuff just didn't appeal to me cuz it was all about DC's JV heroes and villains. Anyhoo, I'm only gonna pick up "Final Crisis" cuz Morrison's writing, and yeah I'm kinda geeking out on "Secret Invasion" right now.

<![CDATA[Zenn-Lavian commented on First Look At Christopher Eccleston In G.I. Joe]]> @smcallah: Indeed. But how they kept that hat on Adibese's head at all times (even when he was "brutalizing" guys) is still a mystery to me!

<![CDATA[Zenn-Lavian commented on Death Race's Postapocalyptic Road Rage Will Be Splattery, Silly]]> Let's see...

Jason Statham... Check!

Swearengen... Check!

Flux Capacitor... Check!

Paul W.S. Anderson... Check! Oh wait! That's not a good thing.

Mehhhhh okay I'm in!

<![CDATA[Zenn-Lavian commented on Meet Bruce Banner's Nemesis In New Hulk Trailer]]> The CGI-Hulk-looks-fake-argument is getting a bit old. I'm of the mind that there's no such thing as a 12-foot tall angry mofo with enough strength to tear tanks in half, so why should I expect it to look "real" in a movie?

I mean, the only reference points for something like the Hulk (and any other comic book super-hero for that matter) are the comics.

So going with this argument, the only alternative would be using a real person somehow--a la Chiklis's Thing or Ferrigno's Hulk--which most people nowadays think looks dumb and cheesy.

Fake-looking or not, I'm for the CGI version.

<![CDATA[Zenn-Lavian commented on Fifty Cents Is All You Should Have To Pay For This Week's Comics]]> So far, Secret Invasion has been the balls... I just picked up a run of Nova so I'm looking forward to reading that.

I've heard conflicting things about Fraction's Punisher War Journal though. Is it really worth picking up?

<![CDATA[Zenn-Lavian commented on io9 Talks To Geoff Johns About Making Superheroes Scifi]]> I like Geoff Johns as a writer, but I'm a Marvel guy and I just can't get into DC's second tier guys, which seem to be Johns's bread-and-butter.

But I like the approach of getting Superman out of Metropolis, so I'll definitely check those out sometime.
