When I was a 4, my virgin college boyfriend was horrified and thought I was a slut, because HE was so pure with his intentions to never have sex, ever. He had some story about how he made another girl cry because HER number was 3, and she felt SO BAD about it in the face of his pristine moral character. When I was in grad school and my number was an 8, my boyfriend at that time told me, "Oh my god, you are the closest person to a virgin I know!" So, I was a slut at 4 and a prude when I doubled it? Eh? Whatever, as I move through life, I sleep with people I want to sleep with, and don't sleep with people I don't want to sleep with. While it would have been awfully nice to have met someone early on and had some deep, wonderful, lasting relationship with them, that hasn't happened yet. So I have relationships and the number grows. So be it.
While it may be by reader request, i think it's fair to say that over the many years I have been reading Jez, and the fewer years that I have been commenting, there's been a shift in readers that mirrored the shift in content and editorial direction.
I wish more people had your "this is still exciting and challenging and fun" view of their relationships. My married friends who have that view of each other after so many years together seem like they have really strong relationships and are really happy. My friends who were all, "I don't want to try anymore" are all divorced now. I wish you the best with your exciting, challenging and fun relationship for many years to come!

I think Nina Dobrev is the bees' knees and absolutely love when she gets to play Katherine instead of boring Elena (although Elena has had some moments where I've been very fond of her), but she's looking awfully bored in those pictures. How does one look bored when posing naked with THOSE guys??

Third Watch was years ago, I think it happened in 04 or 05. Sandra Oh's on Grey's was just a few months ago. I'm not sure about Six Feet Under, though, since I haven't watched it (yet - it's on the list!)
There have been guest characters on Private Practice that had abortions, and I think someone on Degrassi had an abortion, that one might have predated all of these examples.

Did you ever watch Third Watch? That show also had a main female cop who had an unplanned pregnancy. It was quite a while ago at this point, and I thought it was bold for them to show a situation that happens quite often but isn't often talked about in abortion politics - a married woman who already had two kids and knew her family's finances could barely support what they had already.
Their house brands are really great. I was similarly surprised when I went in last summer for the first time in over a decade. I thought that the quality was great, too, I stocked up on fantastic lace camisole tanks that are a great non-cotton fabric and fit beautifully.
