@djscruffy: I didn't mind as much with Spooks. The change of cast was gradual and they weren't all killed off so it seemed a natural part of the storyline. With Torchwood it just seemed like a house cleaning on Davies part so he could try out a brand new show. I'm all for changing up a show and keeping it fresh, but those changes should serve the story you're telling.
I actually liked the first two seasons of Torchwood, although there were some rough patches. And while I liked Children of Earth it just felt like a completely different show to me. It seemed like they completely trashed the feel of the original show, not to mention the cast, to create something different. Why not just create a new show and leave the old one alone? Sorry, I won't be hanging around for the new series. And in case you're wondering I'm not bothered by the most recent cast fatality, but rather the sum of cast fatalities within six episodes.
@jlpwjh4l: Now I feel really old. When I was a kid we watched the original, original Super Sentai series. When "Power Rangers" came out, I cried foul, just as your nephews are now.
How is this different from the way the internet already works? Comcast charges differently for different download/connection speeds. I pay more to get better download speeds, while my friend pays for the cheapo service and usually can't get any streaming video content and some webpages don't load properly.
Also, explain how this will work without "Googlezon' being the only ISP. Does Google even provide internet service now? I admit, I'm not up on these things.
@Oxygengrrl: It's possible that Buckley, while cheating on Devon, decided to build The Gates for his new vampire girlfriend, who eventually became his wife. After all, Harrison found out about the affair shortly before his death, and Harrison died shortly after The Gates was established.
@ClintonBaptiste: Haven't had time to watch it yet, but am now very excited. i'd been waiting I think since last year. Glad everyone seems to like it a lot.
@jedifreac001: Thanks. I decided to check out the comics for myself. And I am enjoying them a lot so far. Will probably check out the movie when it comes out.
This looks kinda fun, but I just don't know if I can get past the "guy-fights-foes-to-win-the-hand-of-the-fair-maiden" theme. I find that to be a huge turn-off. Anyone seen this or familiar with the books that can give me a bit more insight?
I hope they do this. I've never seen the Disney one and never will. Read Anderson's original story as a kid as well as a few adaptations that stuck closely to his plot and loved them. I was horrified when I saw the Disney trailers and refused to see dancing crabs. Would love to see an live action version of the original story.
@Taylorc52: Not for everyone. I'm planning on building my own and I have no interest in blu-ray. In fact, it's one of the reasons I'd rather build my own is to NOT have extra -stuff I don;t want, like blu-ray, on it.
You might want to rethink the wording of your article. It makes it seem like you forgot to post the other four characters, because it doesn't mention Cracked except for the source link that all articles at io9seem to have. You might want to say something like, "Head over to Cracked.com for their list of the Five Most Unintentionally . . ."
@tetracycloide: Technically, you said "scrubs did it first" not "scrubs did it before fringe", which means first, as in before everything else, including Buffy.
