Before I read that that was your wife's arm, I didn't know whether you had puny unmuscled arms, or whether that thing was even bigger than I thought.
"Conversely, autism is virtually unknown in places such as sunny Somalia"
Somalia is an easy place to get a large sample of autism instance data???
That wonderful moment when you realize the display you're recording is way better than the camera you're recording it with, so that the best video that could be shot with said camera is a recording of that display! (Or sad moment, if the screen isn't yours.)
Regarding Touchwiz (or other terrible customized GUIs made by OEMs), it's mainly just a custom Android launcher, which may be replaced with a single download of one of the many more stock-Android-ish launchers available in Market. No special effort or rooting required.
$20,000 for a single yard!? I was on a mountain the other day, and it was covered in millions of tons of pure snow! Do you have any idea what the street value of that mountain was?
I agree, it kind of makes it sound like the end of the story. How many times did we think we were near the end of the story but found more? Aspects of theory which are unimportant in view of later refinement too often get viewed by scientist-philosopher types as worth designing philosophy over, and that's one step closer to religion, which antagonizes religion uselessly.

Determinism ruled as a scientific philosophy for 300 years until quantum mechanics came along, with certain people using it to show the religious how silly they were. Some people on both sides--atheist philosophers and religious--don't even know the war is over! (QM kind of nullified complete determinism.) Surely, we don't need more of that type of thing!

I guess the point is, scientists attacking religion is as pointless as religious attacking science. So, maintain detente, God particle is a silly name.

Astronomical shit just got real: [en.wikipedia.org]
I think you may be joking, but the earth will actually eventually reach the black hole (not the other way around) after aeons. (Has anyone yet tried put an order of magnitude on that time?) Our galaxy isn't shaped like a whirlpool for no reason--it's slowly going down the drain. I've never read any astronomer that postulated that, but I wish someone would because it just looks obvious. Galaxies are dense in the middle and are ripe to make singularities--gargantuan singularities. Huge amounts of matter are thrown off in the chaos of singularities eating, and also huge amounts of energy, as matter is accelerated to luminal speeds while spiraling in. The most energetic things we know about are quasars. These are giant singularities in stout galaxies consuming a lot and causing a cosmological ruckus.
I haven't been this excited about the LHC since the LHC rap.
Thank God, confidence in your ability to have done something well can sometimes be an indicator that you actually did do it well!
Isn't there a field of mathematics that studies how to do this logically? I know there is no mathematically simple or single-solution way to do this, but that doesn't mean we can't aim for doing it without any bias except, say continuity, not cutting county or zip borders, etc. This should be done by computer, and the source code should be public.
In the latter half of the video you can see the cone markers go by several times, but they only appear in 2 or 3 frames per pass.
Whenever I see this type of thing--a heavy flying at <60mph close to the ground, looking like a movie spaceship slowly panning past the camera--my head automatically plays the imperial march.
Presumably on or near the surface of a cooler body, a planetoid. Of course it's long been known/presumed that the heavier elements in those organic molecules were originally formed in stars.
Yes! They moved the back button to the left (backwards, in European script) side! And the menu button is on the right side, like a right-click! I hope others copy this. The initial placement just seemed random.

PS I don't even mention the shocking search button removal because, well, I never use it (but I'm a special case because my search button goes to *%&#$* Bing because I have a Verizon Fascinate).
Most buildings, other than passivhaus standard buildings, are intentionally (and unfortunately for climate control) designed to be air-permeable sieves.
