@Manic0892 says FUCK YOU BOBBY KOTICK: Did you bother reading the article? Or any of the other bazillion articles since the announcement? Doesn't seem like it. Since that is indeed the case, buy around 33 goddamn copies of the game, for each platform. That way you'll never be without the game on any computer, ever.
I take issue with Legacy failing as a game. In fact, it was too much game, too many captains for the crappy story. The space combat happend in true 360ºs and it was great. At least in terms of gameplay. Everything else was crap. The story was pretty crap, the graphics weren't great, or bad. The framerate was a constant issue, especially with explosions on screen.
@the-hypnotoad: I'd say that would be a bit premature. Based on the past numbers the 360 sales are pretty flat. They fall right inline with the past weeks, save for any heavy hitters that cause a mild surge in the numbers.
I think the formula is going to go largely unchanged. I believe this game is a reintroduction of Diablo and it just oozes refinements on top of an already great game. I love the lore behind the particular character classes, but it is ultimately a small part of what makes Diablo fun. The lore serves as an entry point to engage people and give hints of the classes particular play style. I for one cannot wait for Diablo 3.
There's an update. Carmack says this is going to be fixed.
I hope this plays like Star Trek Legacy. I loved having every button do three different things. Loved it.
You know one book that's unfilmable but has been filmed multiple times? Dune. How do you film a book that jump around so leisurely. Half the book take place in people's thoughts. It's really hard to do. Both the movie and mini-series had serious trouble communicating the story with anything that resembled coherency. And they're going to try at it again. I wonder if they'll actually leave all the different stories.
That's not surprising. The large majority of people will use SD because it's "good enough" for them. Who knows when the rest will catch on?
I'm not sure who read the article, but the 360 will not have multiple discs. Carmack stated they couldn't make an arbitrary split in the level for a disc change. What this more than likely means is that more compression will be used on the 360 assets. Anyone else get the feeling that Carmack has come around to the PS3? They've stated they put more sweat equity into the PS3 but it hasn't caused them any problems. Here's the real question: If Carmack wants a blu-ray drive in the 360, will MS give it to him? Probably not.
Overall a decent showing. The made E3 about the games and not much else, which was great.

Project Natal looks great, and I do want to focus on looks, not feel because that's something that we'll have to judge for ourselves. 3d motion tracking and scanning can be a tricky a game and I'm not completely sold on the idea. They had slick tech demos to show case illusions of what the technology can do, and that is great. Is it actually doing all that? Probably not, but that isn't so bad. After all, faking it is half the battle. And the games were well the same games they've been peddling since the start of their console, not bad by any means but a standard affair. So I guess Natal is what saved MS and that's about it, but even so I cannot give them a best of show for a single piece of technology. I really liked Halo: OTSD, a nice fresh take on the Halo universe. Alan Wake looked horrible but that's just my opinion. The gameplay looks campy and it's just not my kind of game. Halo: Reach has got me intrigued. Metal Gear Rising wasn't multiplatform so it's hard to give them anything for this but kudos for getting Metal Gear to the 360 in some form. Forza 3 looks hot and that's all I'll say about that.

Sony did a great job harping on game after game and had a great overall presentation. Their motion controller didn't come across clearly enough. I don't think their technology is complete but I can see what they want to do, and all I think of is this is how the Wii should be doing 1:1 motion because accelerometers just aren't made for that. There's lots of room for error, with a camera it's a lot easier and the results can be precise. They know some big games are coming out and they look fantastic. Heavy Rain, R&C:ACIT, GoW3, GT5, Fat Princess and more! And that's a serious showing. And they even tried to breath life into the PSP with PSPgo and some new games which look great.

Nintendo was almost a complete let down save for a few things. Before I get into that I want to say one thing. Stop making me buy more accessories, just stop it. It is not okay to act like a harbinger to the wallet. No one needs a vitality sensor. You can forgot about me giving praise for Wii Sports Resort, or Motion Plus. The new Metroid game, awesome. I am not as excited about the New Super Mario Bros. No online play, horrible move. I don't care how people spin it. "It's better when people are over anyway!". Yeah, well that might be, but I'd appreciate the option instead of being slapped in the face. Super Mario Galaxy 2 is more of the same, which isn't bad if you liked the first, but I didn't. I beat the game and was let down. Nintendo games have become an exercise in patience, not fun.

Third parties had a decent showing. New Metal Gear and Castlevania, simply awesome. Square please don't fuck up FFXIV. Your first MMO was a boring grind fest like all Korean games (yeah, I said it.) Final Fantasy XIII looks to be shaping up nicely. Ubisoft, well I don't have much to say about your showing except don't give us the same garbage you did last year with Assassin's Creed. Seriously that was some garbage. EA, well they're EA. Mass Effect 2 looked great. I just hope it's not an elevator simulator this time. I don't know about your future, but in my future things get faster. EA has some other things coming like Brutal Legends and Army of Two: 40th Day which look good.

So overall, a decent showing in not so few words.

@Grinman: I'm never washing my pants again after seeing that.
@Nirolak:

It looks good, from a visceral and artistic standpoint but from a technical standpoint I don't see that as very impressive.
If you look at it, it's just a regular destructible column with a particle emitter that fires for a more dramatic effect. Looks cool, and more people should spend the time doing the "little things"

Scott Stapp approves. Scott Stapp loves guitars and God.
@Talryyn: I'm a huge Turbine fan, played AC1 for a very very long time. I just hate for them to take a backseat when credit is given. So that's why I brought up the difference between a publisher and a developer. Especially when the developer, designer are a different company. No one likes to see quality work overshadowed.
Isn't Codemasters a publisher and Turbine the developers and designers (also the publisher in NA) of LoTRO?
@henhowc: yeah the "vision" of the titans and stalkers are a bit abysmal. If it takes you a long time to take down the titans and stuff, you're doing it wrong. With a proper team doing what's needed you can take those things down easily. Though if it's a team of medics prepare to wait quite a long time. The medic "beam" isn't meant to deal damage. Soldiers do moderate damage at best, Spec Ops do the real damage. And half the time I see idiots going off and doing their own thing because they don't get the fact that it's mission and team based, like W:ET.

Simple strategy (as Spec Ops), get a Solider, advance with him as soon as the ammo icon comes give him more ammo or if he's taking lots of fire spam him with ammo as it charges his shield. Pick off people as you can. If you have a medic behind you then you're invincible if you guys can stay in form. I've had a couple of games where things went fine and the mission was 20 - 30 minutes. Other game I've spent 1.5 hours in the thing because everyone was going crazy and kept dying over and over again

It looks like quite a few reviewers are personally panning the game than grading on merit. I'd like to believe that if you take the Denis Dyack out of Too Human you'd have a decent (not great) game. The combat is intense, after you get over the learning curve. The graphics are okay, after you get past the draw distance and DOF. The story is okay, after you get past the voice acting and near hilarity intensity. To be truthful most games that try to do an epic story fail with similar problems.
That statement is something special. Cleverly injecting logical fallacies into a non-argument is genius!

Seriously though, how is it obvious that they're familiar with the xbox because they're familiar with the xbox?

It took me a bit to get used to the controls but after learning them it was a blast to destroy several enemies at once in a fluid motion. One thing that did suck and they MUST fix is the gun controls. The big thing that pounds the floor you really should shoot because you can disable him really quickly that way with some of the rifles but targeting the pounding hand is way too hard. Getting used to the lack of camera was a bit frustrating especially when I had to turn around run back and then turn around and start shooting, the camera would be facing the opposite direction it need to be in for me to aim the guns properly.

Despite glaring control follies the little bit of story was intriguing. And the death system is one of the least annoying I've seen. I can see lots of fun playing with the skill trees. I usually don't play the balanced classes in RPGs so the other classes could turn out to be a real treat to see what you can do when you specialize in skills.

E3 needs to become a semi-annual event. Games take too long to develop these days that a once a year event makes no sense. Two years though I can see it happening. They release the game they start new ideas and finish and then more.
