Great show - see this book [www.amazon.com] for a serious appreciation. And never mind fashion changes, as cop drama, it holds up better than 9/10 of everything. But this episode was lame the first time, as you note. Truly awful, and I say that as a big fan of the show.
Actually, I have to register a dissenting voice - I find it much harder to browse now. And I definitely don't like it when clips start playing automatically.
There is no legitimate reason animated Trek "doesn't count." Same production team, same writers, same actors. Later attempts to de-canon-ize it are lame and ad hoc. It's as authentically Trek as TOS.
At work, we have a rule- if someone needs to borrow, say, 5 or 6 bucks to cover lunch, we round up to 20 bucks. We never lend each other less than 20 bucks, on the theory that the person won't "forget" a 20 dollar loan as easily. And it seems to work: the next day without fail, the borrower comes in with a 20, often fresh from the ATM.
@Arken: THANK YOU for finding this! I remember this well, but it was roommate at the time who owned the tape we saved it on, so I haven't seen it in nearly 20 years. Kurtwood Smith is fantastic in this.
Obvious perhaps, but just in case: if your primary work computer is a laptop and you bring it home, get a second power cord. It saves a lot of time and hassle to just unplug the laptop and go, rather than deal with the power cord.
Although I love Twilight Zone, the series as a whole isn't science fiction, only some of the stories were. Outer Limits, though, was true sci-fi and deserves to be on this list.
@bhar48069: Yep. That collection is great, and I liked that story a lot. Also, for luz, the one where the cast of the show find themselves on the real ship. That's a riot.
