Huh, didn't know about the hard water thing. I killed two bamboo here at work, but only one of three stalks at home. The two that survived are surviving, but that's about it. I haven't noticed any growth on them in years. Maybe this is a stupid question, but is there an easy way to tell if you have hard water?
Just gotta be careful if there are cats around. They're deadly to the kittehs, as are any and all kinds of lily (even the water a lily sits in can make them sick).
For the record, you CAN kill bamboo, and I've done it a few times now (it's sorta hard, but it can be done with overwatering or total neglect).
Also, another plant that is damn near impossible to kill is the ZZ plant ( [en.wikipedia.org] ). It's really nice-looking, and I got a tiny one at IKEA like 7 years ago for probably $5. 1. I had it for 6 months before I watered it for the first time, and that was only because I figured I probably SHOULD (didn't get droopy or anything). 2. It lived in my bathroom with absolutely NO NATURAL LIGHT for 5 years, and it thrived.
*sigh* I really wish I didn't agree with everything you just said (but I totally do -- SO ready for Mr. Sarcastic's return). And normally I wouldn't care (not a fan of the kids, personally), but whose child is that?? What is going on here?!
You need to start practicing on getting those muscles to work voluntarily! Over the past few years, it's gotten easier and easier to wiggle mine on cue, and now I do find that I twitch mine as well as turning my head when I hear something.
There's no point to this, of course, but hey, the muscles are there. Might as well use 'em!
THANK YOU. I will be trying this out! I have a netbook which came with Starter, and I installed a workaround, but it slows the whole machine down. Perhaps it will be a bit snappier with this instead!
Totally agree with you! D9's CGI was incredibly well done. Nothing felt overdone to me, and it's so easy to just forget that what you're seeing isn't real. I just love that movie!
Apparently! HOORAY! (I've read all the books, and I'm not a big fan of the fairyland storyline in general, but I much prefer the book's version of it all so far. The more it's minimized on the show, the better, for me.)
Honestly, I think anyone who DOESN'T tear up at those commercials has no heart. I can't hear anything from Sarah McLachlan without getting sad anymore (probably wasn't the best career move for her haha).
I've seen every episode of that show I-don't-know-how-many times, but Jurassic Bark only once. I started crying at the end and have never watched it since.
What Helen and Thogar said! Righties just don't understand, man! It IS amazing how many stupid little things are still tailored to righties. I'm not going to freak out about it or anything, but they really DON'T understand what we deal with day in and day out.
