I see quit a few folks are naming Beyonce for item 5, but didn't this site (or Jez) run a bit about her and Jay-Z skipping the show and going out to a pizza joint in Brooklyn during the Grammys instead?
Isn't this the same company that did the "Christmas Quality Hanukkah Pricing" billboard that was quickly taken down after public outcry?
Is that the Liberator from 'Blakes 7' on the cover?
Callahan's Place, Cowboy Feng's Space Bar and Grille, and Resnick's Outpost for me (along with Munden's).
Honest to whatever when I saw the title at the bottom of io9 I thought it read 'How To Date a Wanker'.
I know I'm being pedantic but that is the wrong Owlman in the picture - that is the Roy Raymond Jr Owlman version from 'The Outsiders'. This is the Thomas Wayne Jr./Criminal Syndicate of America version (though there are other takes on the character)-
Just curious - is LDR (relatively speaking) popular in the UK? I only ask because the February issue of 'NME' has her listed on the cover picking one of the "Top 100 Albums You've Never Heard" along with Vampire Weekend, The Killers, and Noel Gallagher (along with Metromony and Justice, who I have never heard of because I am old. Are they worth checking out?).
This sounds like a neat idea that might come in handy for me in certain situations, but I have a question about the grind - wouldn't using coffee ground at the finest setting cause a lot of it to seep through the tea bag, much like the 'tea dust' (or whatever it really is called) escapes the more inexpensive tea brand bags when you use them? Thanks.

(Just to be clear I do not know what I am talking about regarding coffee grinds - for my press I was instructed to use a course grind, so a course grind I use.)

There are times when 'Robot Chicken' is great.
Possibly Tate Donovan (though I'm not at all sure about the timing or what constitutes a long term relationship)?
It can't happen, but I would love it if they could take a cue from Larry Niven's 'Down In Flames' and turn everything on its head. The Federation is somehow hiding the fact that they are at war with an unknown enemy and are losing (or lost). The Klingons have disappeared (and when they reappear they will have changed the way they look - with no explanation - again). There never was a Romulon race - they were just created to allow deniability. The Vulcans are the behind-the-scenes bad guys. Maybe. Etc., etc., blah, blah.

(Or, if they just want to do is generic action-adventure sf with no real repercussions all they have to do is have a small renegade crew of former officers, criminals, and misfits steal an experimental ship and go on the run. Of course they are really on covert Federation mission searching for the Ark of the Covenant (what!?!), but being the bad guys gives them a certain edge to circumvent all Federation laws, borders, etc., to get the job done. It also means they are a target for the Federation, Klingons, etc., without Starfleet to back them up. Think 'Blakes 7' crossed with ... um... 'Blakes 7'.)

Also - just a pet peeve - make every season (of every show on the planet!) self contained with a definite ending. Feel free to include an unrelated quick hook or what-the-hell cliffhanger moment to reel folks in for the possible next season, but give us an ending.

A rant: The problem for me isn't that I receive one copy of the Yellow Pages. I can use one copy. But I receive five copies. Then five copies of a mini version of the Yellow Pages are dropped off. Then multiple copies of the "Real" Yellow Pages are dropped off (or maybe the Real Yellow Pages were dropped off first - I can't keep track). Then phone books for just the county listings are left. Then other knock off versions of the phone book are delivered. Last year I received multiple copies of eight different versions of the phone directory with no way I can find to opt out. I simply don't have enough wobbly furniture to put all these phone books to use.

Also, is this being inundated with multiple phone books phenomenon new, or does is it just happening in to me because I now live in the middle of nowhere? I don't remember getting this many books when I lived in any cities.

Thank you. I can't access IMDB/Wiki from here (though not everything is blocked - I can watch German and Polish newscast all day long for some reason).
I honestly thought - based on the NPR segment - that the new Chinese Oreos were rectangular cookies - sort of like the Keebler brand fudge covered cookies.
There are many many X-Men crossovers at the Super-Team Family:The Lost issues blog (braveandboldlost.blogspot.com) like this one, if anyone is interested.

[edit] not sure why but I'm experiencing image fail (this the first time/it has never happened before I swear!) - but if you head over to the blog the artist has many cool cover mash-ups.

Any chance this could be expanded to "what work of science fiction or fantasy taught you about being a good person"? I ask because in my case it was not a fantasy novel but Alan Moore's run on 'Swamp Thing'* that I think was the first fiction that I noticed had any altering effect on me (making me - at least I believe - a more considerate person).

* Along with - to a lesser extent - 'Love and Rockets'. Just don't ask what I got out of Ostrander's 'Grimjack' and 'Suicide Squad'.

Maybe it is a joke referencing the time he had to wear a fake beard, like the Thomas Riker episode and possibly 'Insurrection' ?
No Josie and the Pussycats (In Outer Space)?

Do Filk Bands count? Because if they do I'm voting for ... The Hong Kong Cavaliers. Sorry Steven Brust.

My comment has nothing really to do with the pic I've posted - just an excuse to post a DC cover for the series you referenced - but I loved the Kane/Cockrum art of Marvel's 'Warlord of Mars'.
Actually, if memory serves I don't think either of the lead actors in 'Undercovers' were African-American*. I'm afraid I don't remember their names, but one actor was English - she made several appearances in 'Spooks' and 'Doctor Who', plus was one of the leads in 'Bonekickers' and is currently in 'Touch' with Keifer Sutherland, and the other actor (perhaps Boris something?) was originally from either Germany or Austria.

[edit]* Stupid question - I've never thought about this before - if my thirty year old cousin were to move here from Canada and become a citizen, would he be correct if he referred to himself as African-American? (not sure if the question makes sense - I've edited it twice and it still looks wrong/badly worded.)
