"@machucandidate - Star Trek didnt invent the concept of a space station, and DS9 learned some lessons from B5's long running story arcs as opposed the usual Star Trek formula: Trek cast meets super alien / power / gizmo and things look bleak + cast pulls miracle out of their tail just before the episode wraps up."
