@Totenglocke42: I guess I just can't support your call for innocent people to randomly attack police officers to regain their rights and keep the cops in line.

And your idea to blow up police stations sorta bothers me too.
@Totenglocke42: I never said shit about "innocent" people. That's your fixation. Accountability for police means they DON'T do illegal things, like assault innocent people.

Unlike you, I'm a reasonable person. I think it's reasonable that if a person is yelling at a cop, or cursing at him or her, that they take a harsher attitude. That might mean they're less friendly, not that they attack the person.

And, "innocent" people don't physically assault police officers, because the act of assaulting a police officer is a crime. Sometimes verbal insults is considered assaulting a police officer. Resisting arrest is a crime. If you can't interact with the police without provoking them then you're either a criminal, or stupid, or both.

I don't support police brutality, I never said I did. But I'm street-smart enough to know that spouting off about "your rights" and shouting will do nothing to help the situation if you get stopped by the police. Did I mention I grew up in Chicago? Within the city limits. I've been harassed by cops all my life.

Quit projecting your psycho rage about cops onto what I said. Get a damn grip.
Perceptive Software in Shawnee, KS has a slide from, I think, their second floor to the first. Fun.
@Totenglocke42: My first sentence stated that I support accountability. Apparently you don't understand the word, 'accountability'. But I don't think that matters to you. You seem intent on projecting your ideas onto my words, and I know where this leads. You've got an axe to grind, and you're not really interested in a reasonable discussion. So go grind your axe. And you know where to stuff your ad hominems.
I agree with those that suggest accountability and restraint in the use of Tasers by Chicago Police. However, I support the use of them by the CPD. Consider the alternative, baton beating, or being shot.

I grew up in Chicago, and my experience with the CPD is mixed. As a teenager they were, of course, the enemy. As an adult they treated me very fairly during a murder investigation of my girlfriend. And they caught her killer very quickly.

My experience is, if you respect their authority, even if you disagree with them, and remain courteous, they respond the same way.

But if you mouth off, or resist, you get what you deserve. Imagine you spend your whole day dealing with various levels of scumbags and jerks. Imagine the stress. Then imagine someone smarting off to you, or worse, trying to injure you. You'd probably want to taze that person too.
What's with the lame bafflement about "shagged"? Seriously, you're going to tell me that the only instance you've ever heard the term "shagged" in is the Austin Powers movies?

Your parents never told you to "Shag your ass out here and clean up this mess!" No? That explains a lot. Chicago natives have a term for the likes of you, ya bunch of shagoffs.

The truth is, when these kids are in their late 20s and early 30s, they'll be the ones getting bars closed in Wrigleyville because what was once a convenient drunken stumble home is now a noisy nuisance in the fews years before they pull up stakes and move to Winnetka.

In the meantime, they're a bunch of boorish shagoffs.
This is *really* gonna scare the old fu... folks.
@jethro1138 I'm pretty sure you eat what they give you when it comes to rations. It's war, not an airline flight. And these are field rations, meaning there's no mess facilities anywhere near you.

Vegetarians or "special"* diet people probably just trade around to meet their needs.

*Can't be too special or you're not fit for duty.
What is it the kids are sayin' these days...? Meh.
Meh. Owle uses a standard M39 screw mount. You could mount any number of M39 lenses. [tinyurl.com] , for example: [tinyurl.com] Just use the lens it's designed to use, why screw around with adapters and shit.
@nicktennear: Wow. Never been really sick, have you? Never seen a hospital bill as thick as a telephone book either, I guess.

Probably never seen everything your family's worked for all their lives gone after the insurance ran out either. There's a limit as to how much insurance companies will pay out. It is often exceeded by the cost of treatment. Then the hospitals & doctors go after your assets.

So, what, you're so rich you can afford a million dollar hospital bill without blinking? Or you're young enough that you haven't really experienced life. Or both.

"I actually don't give a fuck." Ah... sociopath then.
Wow. Incase, arguably one of the best iPhone cases on the market is pretty slow off the blocks for iPhone 4, aren't they? And where's my iPad Slider case, Incase?!

"20 times stiffer and 30 times harder than plastic, the glass is ultradurable" my ass!

Damn you Ive! Damn you all to heck!
@joel_roberts: Okay. You're probably right. I don't use it that way since my apartment is small and don't have multiple libraries on my network.
@joel_roberts: I'm pretty sure you can browse shared libraries.
I'm not very familiar with Sonos, but I just helped a friend set up 3 airport expresses connected to 3 different stereos in his house to control his & his wife's iTune libraries with Remote. Works on either iPad or iPhone.

(Just looked at prices on the Sonos page) I dunno, seems like you could do it cheaper using Airport Express & your home network. Especially if you have stereos or radios with aux inputs already in the rooms. You could even use standard powered speakers hooked up to the Airports.

Remote allows you to choose the library you want to play from, and which remote speakers you want active, & volume, & playback controls.
@talkingstove: Gah! It's: "You're so pretty when you're unfaithful to me". Get it right!
@eldar.a: I hear ya. Today you can buy a digital, or quartz movement watch for a pittance than keeps time as well as a $500,000 watch. Used to be you had to spend big money for watch that wouldn't lose or gain a few minutes over the course of a day. So now a really expensive watch is just a statement of how much money you have to waste.
If the company's reps are willing to pull bullshit moves like covering up the light sensor on the iPad in order to make their product look better, then I wouldn't buy their products. And if the representative is so stupid as to think such a transparent ruse would fool a bunch of geeks, that's even more reason to avoid this company.
