Because like almost every other medical field, creating a complete cure will be a horrible thing for corporations that make millions off of temporary solutions... and not many people would invest money in a complete cure if it means that after a certain amount of people use your products nobody will need it anymore...

No need to be sorry, I am a fan of the same field of debate so I would be happy to try and answer your questions with my thoughts on the subject. Regarding the matter of new time frame and the original, I think it would be logical to assume that as you have traveled to a new time frame or parallel universe/reality hence it's not really necessary that there will be a version of you in that time frame because by the essence of you stepping out of your time frame and creating a new time frame means that in that time frame's reality you have not existed in the first place, I guess I can see it as, if time is relevant to the atoms then by creating a new time frame you pretty much creating a parallel universe around yourself, hence randomness of what will happen, your parents might not be your parents or be parents to somebody else, and your kids might not have existed in the first place. Kind of gets muddled when it comes to things like family and blood relations, but I think it's an avoidable paradox because being born and existing are two separate things as far as I see them.

To be honest I don't think backwards time traveling is possible as well but not due to the Time Traveler's Paradox (I might be wrong theoretically of course :), but as far as I can logically fathom, whichever direction you are time traveling (Backwards or Forward) it actually creates a separate time frame relative to YOU, as in time is relative to the atoms and not to the universe, so if you go back in time to the year 1990 you will in essence create a separate time where the original you doesn't exist, hence no Time Traveler's Paradox...
