The biggest frustration I have with the planned / seat-of-the-pants debate is when a show sells itself as having a master plan when said plan does not actually exist. Shows that have a central mystery are, in effect, building an audience by promising a moment of resolution -- a finished puzzle. Ultimately, it diminishes the show if this puzzle never fits together well.
Does anyone have an idea when/if they are going to fix the drag-and-drop inline images feature that appears to have been broken by the d&d attachments feature?
I know it can be worked around by selecting 'use old version', but I was hoping for a smoother fix.
[i]Nine times out of 10, a show that's teased a romantic coupling for this long will fall apart once they get their happily ever after. [/i]
The question is "how many of those shows have made the separation so annoying?" Seriously, this show has had a bad case of 'just do it already' for at least a season.
@Kessica: I think one of the interesting things about Serenity is that, even though they didn't touch on Book's origin at all, it seems like everyone comes up with the same answer after seeing the movie. It's like answer is there, and we all see it as an afterimage.
When I read #9, I immediately thought of this:
Kosh: John... Johnny...
Sheridan: Dad?
Kosh: I don't have much time, son. [Flash to Kosh's quarters, where we see vague images of a battle.] I want you to know you were right. I didn't want to admit that. Just pride I guess. You get my age, you get kinda set in your ways. It had to be done. Don't blame yourself for what happened later. [Flash to battle; in Sheridan's dream, Kosh shows pain.]
Sheridan: Dad, are you -- you all right?
Kosh: It's too late for me. I'm sorry for what I did before. I knew what was ahead. I guess -- I guess I was afraid. When you've lived as long as I have, you -- you get kinda used to it. Ah! [He shows more pain.] I wish I could have done more for you. There's so much I should have said, and now it's too late.
[Sheridan doesn't actually say anything, but is clearly showing disbelief.]
Kosh: You're right. It's time you begin fighting this war your way. [Flash to battle; Kosh shows more pain.] I've got to go now, John.
Sheridan: No, no, don't -- don't leave.
Kosh: It's -- it's all right, son. See, as long as you're here, I'll always be here.
[Final flash to battle and Kosh's death. Sheridan wakes and sits up in bed.] #startrek
My one quibble about this episode is, once again, the Dollhouse being awfully slack. Boyd spends a lot of time piecing together the signs that Echo is becoming way too sentient... and then does nothing about it.<<<
As others have mentioned, Boyd did something. He made a defining choice just as much as Adelle and Topher did. No longer is he just supportive/protective of Echo. Now, he is actively supporting Echo against the Dollhouse. #dollhouse
I think an honorable mention should go to the Atomic Robo story from Free Comic Book Day. It's available in its entirety here: [www.nuklearpower.com]#dinosaurs
