Now all we have to do it sit back and wait for someone with enough money and not enough sense to actually put an idea as beautiful as this into action.
I will agree that the beauty of a machine is directly related to it's competitive ability. However, I disagree as to the stated nature of the relationship. In my experience, the closer to the front a car is, the more beautiful it becomes.
NASCAR should implement something akin to the FIA S2000 regs. A big part of the appeal of touring and rally racing is that their trading paint with vehicles similar to what you drop your kids off at the pool with. It was part of NASCARs rationale back in the day, but now they can't seem to decide if they want to be a spec racing or stock car outfit.
Mass Effect 2 for GOTY - a massive improvement on an original game that was already great. The universe is rich and textured. The characters are varied, well written, well performed and interesting. The accumulative effect of your moral choices are affecting and create an experience unique to the player. The combat is smooth, enjoyable and sufficiently taxing. The stripped down item management cuts away all the horrible busywork that bogged the first game down.
This is a slicker, meaner, better produced, more epic and more fun sequel to the first Mass Effect and provides more, bigger, better and more interesting bangs for your buck then any other game released this year. GOTY, without a single doubt in my mind.
Replacing the RPG-style play with a full on action mechanic was the best call they made - it streamlined the gameplay and let the glorious world of ME and it's characters come to the fore, bolstering everything that made the first game so successful despite it's glaring flaws. My GOTY.
Fangio in his W196, in a support race for the 1978 Australian GP against Jack Brabham in the Repco. I'm sure you've all seen this before - so lets see it again. And again. And again.
