@Darklighter: Isn't it better to know the truth, though?

I just hope this gets out more. This indigenous advertising crap really ticks me off..

Vote: Tweetie Smooth, multiple accounts, fast, and sturdy.
How the hell did you miss Neil Postman? After McLuhan, he's probably the most important figure on this issue. "Amusing Ourselves to Death" and "Technopoly" are classics.
I really dig this... Anyone want to offer up what they think the scripts are to accomplish this in GeekTool?
Bailing as soon as I move (my current roommate won't hear of it because of sports, but screw that.)

MacMini broadcasting TV and movies, windows under emulation to send out hulu and youtube and Netflix already on the Xbox....

Going to get a HD antenna for local channels for weather (living in Tornado alley and online coverage of the weather is still crap) and that's it!

Call the news, call Rev. Al...

Let 'em reap the grain from their labor. Sounds like they deserve every single bit of the crapstorm to come down upon them.

I was at the opening of their culinary institute... It really is amazing! Right in the middle of one of the most beautiful areas on earth.

And while I wouldn't venture to recommend the Olive Garden's food (aside from their Artichoke Dip, which is bloody amazing) it has been getting progressively more "Italian" since the culinary institute opened (2001, I think?).

@taciturnforsale: Satire is only funny when it's relevant. If you don't have call failure all the time it's not going to do a lot for you.

If it was something about unreliable 3G or something.... then it'd be relevant.

Once a month maybe. ON AT&T.

Bloody better than Sprint or Verizon here.

You couldn't even buy a Verizon plan here until very recently (in Oklahoma).

Ambien can do some nutty stuff. I've been taking it on and off for almost 10 years and I've had everything from hallucinations, hooking up with people (frequently hallucinating WHILE doing that)(and FREQUENTLY screwing around with girlfriends), making strange foods, I've bought a NUMBER of things online, send STRANGE texts, etc..

I've kind of trained myself not to leave the house now but...

Yeah, it's a mess. But, if you deal with chronic insomnia (about 15 years in my case) you don't care - it's worth it. Absolutely.

The trick to this new grilled chicken is get it VERY fresh. It's actually pretty good then.

Any other time.... well, disgusting as KFC normally is.

Also... I often look at the highest scored positive reviews (of any substance) and then the worst reviews. For books, knowing who is against it and hates it often is enormously helpful in determining its value!
Amazon customer service has gotten so bad... I ordered a "new" copy of the Lion King. Got what appeared to be a used bootleg... Contacted Amazon about it, they couldn't care less and the guy is still selling.

I buy a TON through Amazon... and their customer service is still very good for the basics (because you don't actually deal with them) but if you've a problem beyond returning something you're in trouble.

Used to be if I called I would get someone very helpful with good language skills, I call now I get someone in India (and I don't have a problem with that in principle) who can't seem to manage to go off script and actually help me at all.

@Dormouse: Corporate Tool: What he said.

I'd rather be sitting next to a fundamentalist Christian and Muslim extremist than an objectivist. Ewww.

But Ayn Rand... ah... as literature it's garbage. As philosophy it's even worse.

Love this!

Now if I could just find something to turn a wikipedia page into something this clean! (and it works quite well for wikipedia, btw... I just mean something that makes it suitable to send to my Kindle!)

Wow... that looks TERRIBLE.

Even for 1999. It looks like the fake "Stargate TV Show" in the Stargate TV show.

Okay. Worse than that.

I've been using PostBox on the Mac, myself. It is pretty great (though not a solid enough integration into the OS).

It doesn't support extensions, but I'm not sure there are enough extensions I'd want with Thunderbird that would make it better.

At the end of the day, the problem with Thunderbird for a a Mac user is one of the reason Mac's are great is the way the system interacts with itself. Thunderbird, and even Firefox, break that unity up. For Firefox I'm willing to do it for the extensions, but I dunno about Thunderbird.

Yeah... only 12 people in that pic, there should be 13 for the "Last Supper"

The Final Cyclon may be someone who ISN'T there. But should be. Perhaps Geta.

Terribly excited about Flash, but worried the crappy browser won't handle any of it (out of memory, etc.)

Still, gonna wait until tomorrow... Really like my PS3 (and want to play Dead Space), I'd prefer it not turn into a brick because Sony has their heads perpetually where the sun doesn't shine when it comes to software.
