@ihfiapc: This inscrutable link was meant to inspire discussion of whether one option for longer spaceflight might be artificial gravity simulated by centripetal force. For reals, is there any reason this wouldn't work? Discuss!
You're giving away all our best secrets!
@cash907: Seriously, her having a little meat on her bones was the BEST thing about that video. It added gravitas, which still couldn't break through the suckitas.
Thank god, I thought I was going insane. This is...this is a complete train wreck. We all know that, right?
@JediComedian: And how's this for a deep cut. A few years ago, my lovely wife gave me the complete Muppet Show dvds for my birthday -- including the one hosted by Mark Hamill -- which I think came out between ANH and TESB.

In that episode, the joke is that Mark Hamill is being chased around by Luke Skywalker, and that Luke is like this intense nutjob. And he's running around the back of the muppet theater shouting, "Remember Alderaan!" So, there's that.

Also -- for one of the most fondly remembered moments of my childhood, I have to say that the Mark Hamill episode of the muppet show...kind of sucks. Way below Harry Belafonte, Peter Sellars or even John Denver. But way better than Mummenschanz, to be fair.

@Patrick Brown: Does your license plate say "Cineaste"?
@Triplanetary: You...you write for the Onion, don't you?
@ReverendLoki: His rod did belong to Solomon. Huh Huh uhuhuh
Sooo...I know just noting references is the lowest form of conversation (to paraphrase Tony Soprano), but..."I think you overestimate their chances." No one? Anyone? Bueller?
@T-man: It was saved. But not for her.
@TPL2008: Pretty awesome and insightful point.
@Lassus: I THOUGHT it looked familiar. Adama founded Edoras!
@mattattaxx: I thought maybe she sublimated, like Oedipus at Colonnus.
Man, that was awesome. I'll now go back and read 445 comments.

But was there a special effect better than the luxurious locks of one Mr. Ronald D. Moore? I think not.

@PVIII: I keep hoping for a "Space Seed"-like return to that great, creapy horror episode. It's been twenty years. But I guess we get Abrams reboot instead.
Geek connections being formed -- anyone else thing Dreilide/Daniel = R. Daneel Olivaw?
Trae, I know Superman can seem trite and predictable, but he's not. There are amazing things that can be done with the character. I'm especially thinking of Kingdom Come, of course -- not for the plot and the action, but for the arc of him losing sight of being Clark Kent and instead focusing on his alien heritage.

Superman is what is good in the world.

Come on, io9 -- how about a feature, "How to Make a Good Superman Movie."

@LordMaim: *golf clap*.

By hook or by crook, Evil Al Hologram Cylon will make you a number, not a free man.
