@Zer0OrDie: I don't cut people off or drive to the front of lines to merge, but as a BMW owner (an M3 at that), I can confirm that I feel like an asshole whenever I drive it. I can't help it. It sounds awesome, and feels awesome. I try to stay away from populated, high traffic areas to minimize my asshole exposure though.
@Dacker: Oh I don't think they would need to identify your business or educational institution, just look at popular results coming from the same broad IP range. Searches for universities are probably going to be higher ranked from IP addresses on a University network than they would on a business network though.
@Dacker: I was under the impression that autocomplete took into account popular results based on IP address range. If this search was done on a University network, it might make sense that it heavily favors academic institutions (and football).
@sollipse: Let's face it, anyone still playing it is in it for the long haul. There's no going back for them now. It's like when you're masturbating, and you've gotten all chafed and sore but you keep going just out of spite.
I was really excited for GT5. I was prepared to buy a PS3 to play it. But after getting my hands on it last night, I think I'll stick with Forza 3. It may not be as pretty, but GT5 just isn't compelling enough to make the switch.
Would you feel more comfortable about this if it had been Google redirecting all traffic through their servers? Just because it's a Chinese company doesn't mean their intentions are necessarily nefarious (or any more nefarious than American companies). China Telecom is out to make money, and the West is a huge customer to them. They're not going to sabotage their own success for some grand Evil Purpose. I know it's comforting to view the Chinese as mysterious foreigners, but it's time to get over your ethnocentric paranoia.
