To add insult to this tragedy, I wouldn't be at all suprosed if she bought him the wii !!!! :(
I heard of a study a while back about the dumbing down of America.
Seems highly schooled individuals are choosing more and more to focus on their careers and life plans before having children. This is leading to more of these couples waiting to have kids until they are in their 40's. Problem is... fertility decreases with age...so...while Richard and Margret lament their lack of children by disproportionately contributing to social welfare programs...
Dick and Peggy (or Pegg and half a dozen other "partners") are banging away in their trailer trying to make up the difference.
We discuss the moral dilemma of forced sterilization while all the while we are being breeded out of existence.
@Pinkhamster: Yhea you nailed it. I'm not so niave as to think he is a one man show.
Its the fact he has some sharp senses both mental & physical.
Perhaps that's his talent...He knows how to recognize a good thing.
Can't say I'm crazy about it.
Can't shake the feeling it looks like Transformers without the 'bots.
But I'll go see it just to keep Brolin in circulation.
I also have no doubt his skillz will garner more than a few chuckles from this cynical movie watcher.
That there is one Goonie that can deliver.
You done good Brand, you done good.
@Pinkhamster:
Can't speak for the last two but I saw the first two and quite enjoyed them.
Never cared about Demi till I saw GI Jane.
Black Rain is one of my yearly, guilty, go to movies.
Funny thing is, I didn't know either one was a R. Scott film till I read your post.
The thing about Scott is (and my all time favorite, Blade Runner, is the testament) he has this ability to set up the world and let your mind fill in the pieces. Whether it be some oversized skeleton in a big chair, a lonely subway in a foreign country, the sound of approaching danger, and the only person you care about on the wrong side of the gate.......
Jesu Christo these two sentences spoken in the rain over 25 years ago still inspire my creative mind...
"...Attack ships on fire of the shoulder of Orion...Sea beams glittering in the darkness at Tanhauser Gates."
His productions are so tight I don't even need a story, just a frame...
Mr Scott...I heart thee.
@julianmilodanic: Yhea I saw it when I was 7 (a kid) and loved it.
Funny how as we approach middle age we look at being 18 as young. HA!
Luckily my body may age but my brain is fully stuck in 15th gear.
Shadow & Claw: The First Half of 'The Book of the New Sun' by Gene Wolfe
Bought it because of the cover, cool fantasy motif. Found out it wasn't so much fantasy after all...Highly recommended.
