When I make grilled cheese, I often use pepper jack cheese and crumbles of other cheeses if I've got them, and also use hot sauce on the inside.
I like to use Ghee instead of butter.
Also, diced tomato in the sandwich (or served with tomato soup on the side) is excellent. The taste of tomato goes really well, the hot tomato ads a nice taste and different texture, and this is more healthy than dipping the sandwich in ketchup, which I'd do otherwise.
Another thing I do often is put diced Celebration Roast from Seattle's Field Roast Co. inside, which is a vegetarian meat roast stuffed with butternut squash, apple and mushroom.
So, all together, my best grilled cheese is a combination of the above. That's my secret recipe, so don't tell anyone else, okay?
Remember: the Picture Show was already a remake of the stage Show.
I've seen a stage production of The Rocky Horror Show in Seattle at The Empty Space Theatre back in the 90's. It was amazing, and for all the greatness and longevity of the movie; the live show was more wonderful than I thought possible. (Although I've also heard people say they've seen stage productions which sucked, the one I saw definitely did not.)
So, while the idea of an MTV remake fills me with plenty of dread, I know how much more could be possible.
About Capt. Pike, I think we did in fact get to see what a series with him as captain would be like, and it was called Enterprise. Archer's crisis of conscience about being captain is mirrored by that of Capt. Pike. I think the similarity would have ended up with a captain who just wasn't very likable and thus not compelling to watch, which was Archer in Enterprise for me.
Which is an interesting realization for me, because I used to think that Archer was Star Trek's failed attempt to copy Malcolm Reynolds' bad attitude (which is also something that was changed from actual to official pilot, BTW) and Enterprise was a failed copy of Firefly in general because it couldn't match the good writing and compelling stories.
The final season of Enterprise finally started to have the feel of something I was excited to see, and had a lot of joy in itself as part of a mythology to be explored with gusto and abandon. Then again, the first season of every version of Trek was a poor representation of what they later became, it seems like, over time.
But, I've wandered off-topic ...
Well, that begs the question of whether the testicles are still attached to the beaver when they are rubbed. You know, still attached might both be nice for the idiot and nice for the beaver; but, could result in some run in with bestiality laws ...
