3m30sec - a series of notes that'd make an autotune machine run home crying.

Flawless. Just flawless. I always preferred this remix - it added a strength to the message that was lacking in the "regular" release. This was an anthem to women betrayed (heck anyone betrayed) : YOU screwed up but I'VE got what I need to move on.

I'm ancient so I remember her in the "I wanna dance with somebody" 80's - fresh, pretty and classy, yes, but that VOICE.

We used to drop everything to watch her freaking Diet Coke commercial because of that VOICE.

The attached is from just over a decade later. 3m30 in makes my spine tingle to this day.

Sad, very sad, but we've been losing her in small measures for quite some time.

Given how difficult it's been for Siri to "get" Scots English, Mandarin? Seriously?

Doesn't Mandarin have a word we'd write out as "ma" in English having something like 7 or 8 meanings due to varying verb inflection and tone?

Can we get some interviews with people who mis-programmed their PVRs and got this instead of Downton Abbey?

Are you sure that's Maggie Smith?
Well... no.

I only work from home when the other half is at work. It's not that I need the quiet (you should hear the talk-level at my regular job) but if it came down to it, I'd rather talk to him than actually work. I'm funny that way.
This. Oh This. May I add, in "B" Esther took a short term CIA/MI6 project in, oh let's say Cardiff and got pulled to Torchwood? (I doubt we could stretch things enough to reanimate Ianto so I'll settle for Esther. I liked her.)
I refuse to consider "Miracle Day" canon - I'd prefer to view Torchwood as "ended" with "Childen of Earch" on an operatic, tragic tone.

Come back to tie up loose ends? I'm not interested - especially if Phifer's involved.

If I relax and lose focus, I perceive a wire-frame cube turning on one corner. Anyone else?
I think Thrun expected the AI people to do a LOT of extra reading outside the class, even beyond the textbook readings.

ML was more awesome than I thought possible - Ng really put together a sweet class (though he dumbed it down a little for us.)

I've signed up for the Cryptography and Natural Language Processing classes starting next month. Fingers are crossed!

I wonder where He has to stick His fingers to start the reboot?
Would all of you excuse me for a moment? [Walks out onto the street.]

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEA...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Futurama was right: I watched it. I can't unwatch it.

OK, "brave, strong and always running a little late"?
Wander Woman - brave, strong and hopelessly lost.
Wow, it's almost a plot device for a Sci-Fi epic. The hero's got moments to record a 10sec message to himself/herself and toss it into that tiny white-hole where it'll land on their doorstep ... 5 years ago! (The last message was a mess: they looked out on the street while pressing [Record] and sent "LOOK, a KITTY!")

10sec's huh.

"Yes, you CAN use the car" (Car keys)
"Don't even THINK of using the car" (Car keys)
"Am I drunk and incoherent? Please leave me at ..." (Belt loop)
"I'm lost. Please call xxx-xxx-xxxx." (Pet collar)

Yeah, it'd be a struggle to get a real, practical use for it.

Maybe, instead of turning websites black we should organize a "Weekend Without Movies " for the guys over at MPAA?

Wonder how they'd say of the 3day take was $45.56

I'm more fond of the term "Green Lanternix" (I know gender-based terms are a little silly - in English - but there's a part of me that thinks a woman being able to be an "executrix" of a will seems somehow cooler.)
I just got my "Statement of Accomplishment" from Stanford's "Machine Leaning" class that ran from last Oct to Dec. (74.25/80 on the quizes and 750/800 on the programming assignments - I'm pleased). Ng was an excellent video lecturer. He and his team put a massive amount of effort into it and the quality showed.

It was great fun and as someone who's gradually been moving into the business end of computing, it was nice to actually ... well... think again.

And thou dost not cross the streams!
Easy. It's all about the damage from heat of evaporation...

Oh, wait, that's why you shouldn't water roses in direct sunlight. My damn android tablet's on the fritz again.

I know what you mean, I've got my eye on one of these models. It's within my price point, a little downscale but most importantly inconspicuous.
