I don't like convertibles (especially when we've had something like 75 days of 100+ degree weather this summer so far...) and I don't like big land yachts. But I have not lusted for a car as much as this one in a very long time. I honestly can't remember when I've had such a strong positive reaction to a car. It's just so freaking gorgeous, and just by looking at it, I can tell that cruising around in it would be a dream.

Please build this car, Cadillac!
I agree with 2012. I'm tentatively planning on looking for a new car the summer of 2012, and I couldn't be more excited!

I'd also like to add the Golf R to the list, mainly because I love my 2007 GTI and the idea of an AWD golf that still has the lightweight turbo 4 cylinder makes me salivate...
Well, I kinda need to finish up Defensive Driving online this weekend... but as soon as I'm done with that, I'm back to Mass Effect 2, which I just bought a week ago, with some Infinity Blade and Angry Birds Holiday on the side.
@cmdtacos: yeah, whenever I browse Autotrader, I set the radius to 200 miles to include San Antonio, Houston, and Dallas. I live in Austin.
@porsche9146: my favorite car of my dad's was the late 70's/early 80's 911 turbo he drove when I was a little kid. Giant whale tail, bright silver with black wheels... absolutely gorgeous car. The guy he sold it to totaled it a month after he bought it... :-(

@Moncusm: yeah... get in line!
@porsche9146: dad? (kidding)

My dad has a similar bias. He's pretty much only ever driven Porsches and Corvettes (as far as fun cars go).

He's shopping for a CTS-V coupe right now...
I'll be honest... the baby ad got me. It has more to do with the fact that my mom sang that song to me all the time when I was little and she passed away less than two months ago, though.

I wonder how many people have feelings of nostalgia for that song... that song choice might have been a really good move on their part, despite how sickeningly shmaltzy the ad is...
So I guess I'm the only one that thought the punctuation and grammar were terrible?

It was an amusing and fun article for sure, but this guy needs an editor.
@theeastbaykid: ha! I saw an old E32 Dinan 750 at the grocery store yesterday afternoon. It had california plates (I'm in Texas) that said SCARY 7. It was in really, really good shape. The paint was clean, the wheels were in good shape, and the interior looked to be in good shape, too.

I feel a little conflicted, though. I parked between the 750 and a really nice piece of 70's american iron that looked like it had been restored very well... but I was more interested in the 750...
@jodark: make it half a keg of something from 512 Brewery and you have a deal, as long as you're not allergic to cats :-)
@jodark: since I live in Austin... Heck Yes!!!!
when he got towards the end, and the only thing you could see over the edge was blue sky and clouds... I got kinda freaked out.
@DrakeDatsun: From what I understand, the 1st movie is going to be the basic story we all know and love as The Hobbit. The 2nd movie is going to be everything that happens in between the hobbit and fellowship of the ring, stuff that's alluded to or semi-described in the books.
@HoyaCarLover: yeah, my GTI has been great... and I've said almost exactly the same thing too...

and my dad, a long-time porsche driver (but more recently corvette driver) loves my GTI...

...oh, and I also one day want an E46 M3... but not a Saab...
I loved it. I had Tristeza (chill instrumental indie) playing on pandora, and thought it made a great soundtrack as well...
@Old No.7: I agree, the track will almost definitely be on the east side of town, but maaaan I wish it was going in that spot in WilCo... that's close enough to my house that I could ride a bike there and not have to worry about parking...
My uncle played a reporter at the end of the original Piranha. He had the best line ever... "Death, Destruction, Mayhem..." or something like that...
When I think about what else I can get for $36k... or even 10 or 20k less than that... crack pipe. There's not really anything about this car that makes me want it. Too new to be classic yet, too expensive to be a beater/cruiser/fun 2nd car, too many shenanigans required to get it street-legal...
...so it was a short-short version of Neil Gaiman's American Gods?
